GimmeVinyl 27th Dec 2019		The theme from Hawaii 5-0.. I have the 45rpm single, by The Ventures on Liberty.. yeah, awesome record! I think McGarrett drove the coolest cop car ever...A black on black 68 Mercury Park Lane 4 door hardtop with the 428 4-bbl engine..



23skidoo 20th Aug 2015		Apparently we will never be able to see the complete series. I wasn't aware of this until just now: there was an episode that aired during the first season called "Bored, She Hung Herself" which led to a viewer committing suicide. As a result not only was it pulled from syndication but the decision was made for the episode to not be released on DVD, either, so technically speaking this is a rare example of a "lost episode" for a US series (although I assume a copy of it probably still resides in some CBS archive somewhere and someone has posted a very poor copy online).

Monolith ● 6th Jun 2015		Interesting trivia is this series is set in the same fictional universe as Magnum PI Interesting trivia part 2: Tom Selleck also appears in Murder She Wrote as Magnum PI as well, therefore tying in JB Fletcher to the same universe.



zabadak ● 6th Jun 2015		Used to watch this, of course, but found it increasingly dull compared to the other fare around at the time. The current reboot is ace, btw! Didn't Jack Lord cunningly by the rights to the show and make his millions in syndication and repeats? :read: Oh, that theme... :thumbsup:



23skidoo 5th Jun 2015		Interesting trivia is this series is set in the same fictional universe as Magnum PI. A couple early episodes of that series made reference to the 5-0 division and apparently they tried to get Jack Lord to appear as McGarrett but by that time Lord had retired from acting and refused to come back. Allegedly Magnum was commissioned in part so CBS could maintain a TV production presence in Hawaii.
