Season 1: 1959-1960 - half-hour
Season 2: 1960-1961 - half-hour
Season 3: 1961-1962 - half-hour
Season 4: 1962-1963 - hour
Season 5: 1963-1964 - half-hour

Rod Serling later created and hosted the thematically similar Night Gallery series. After his death, three attempts have been made at reviving the series: a 1983 motion picture; a successful 1985 TV movie that led to a series that aired on CBS and in syndication from 1985-1989, and a less-successful revival on UPN that aired in 2002-2003.

The final new episode broadcast in 1964 was the Oscar-winning French short film An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, which was reformatted for the Twilight Zone. Switched from half-hour to one-hour format during one season. Several episodes were produced on videotape rather than on film.

jimbo2021 26th Oct 2024		Never saw it, or really any episode of the series, but one of the guest stars on the episode mentioned (as shown) was Peter Breck, who went on to play Nick Barkley of course, in the excellent western series The Big Valley ..for four seasons (1965-69) and 112 episodes.

23skidoo 14th Mar 2016		Here's a bit of trivia Serling would have appreciated. As was the case with many TV shows of the 1950s and 1960s, a comic book version was launched. The comic outlived the original series by close to 20 years, wrapping up in the early 1980s, not long before the revival series debuted. Giving it a great Zone twist is the fact that, in the comic, Rod Serling continued to introduce each story, in illustrated form, of course, for a number of years after the writer/host died! They did the same thing with Boris Karloff in his comic (based upon the series Thriller), which kept him "alive" for a good decade or more after his death!
