ady_lister 11th Sep 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Young - Comes A Time (1978) | Would the SABAM make this a Belgian release?
ady_lister 23rd Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Doors - Morrison Hotel (1976) | Added 80s Reissue labels. Similar to kabs but with the Gema/Biem. I tend to stay out of the WEA Germany? Euro? UK? debate cos it annoys me. Added them here cos we have a Euro ELK 42 080 already. Funnily in the deadwax there's R/S Alsdorf 42080 but hand etched in the other side: 'UK' so maybe they pressed some with the Elektra Cat# and some with the Kinney# and sent them over. My sleeve also has 'The Doors' in white instead of Red. In reality, both mine and kabs are Euro pressings but until someone adds the original UK edition...

ady_lister 23rd Jun 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumMott The Hoople - Mott (1973) | Added the 1st press Front cover with the Plastic see-through window face. Added the back as well, but its an almost inconsequential difference: 'Unipack by Shorewood Packaging' credit in the bottom right corner.
ady_lister 31st May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumAffinity - Affinity (1970) | Linda Hoyle. She's got such a damm hot sexy voice. The album isn't totally flawless and runs out of steam in the 2nd side but its still one of the Vertigo greats.
ady_lister 30th May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumGraham Nash - Earth & Sky (1980) | I've just noticed that the deadwax has "Hello" inscribed which is a reference to Nash's previous solo release Wild Tales which has "Hello" printed inside the cover. Wonder if Graham was trying to tell us something?
The other slightly interesting story about this album is that Nash had it ready for CBS who printed the cover photo with a UPC Barcode on the rear. Nash objected and signed a contract with Capitol who assured him the cover would be printed as intended.
ady_lister 28th May 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Young - Hawks & Doves (1980) | Added cover and labels. The tracklisting sticker on the rear sleeve is stuck to the shrinkwrap so discarding it would lose the information. I don't know if all US copies are like this...
ady_lister 10th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Music Box (1969) | Not sure if this tie-in with BankAmerica Credit Card was a Mail-in or giveaway or such and could be Promo only. Feel free to amend if you know otherwise.
ady_lister 29th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumCrosby, Stills, Nash And Young - Déjà Vu (1970) | I'm guessing O_B and goodbear that you have a US Sleeve stickered with the Kinney Cat# and a UK pressed record. This is common for Kinney especially if the sleeves are gatefold or complicated such as the leather effect of this one. My yessongs is US with a Sticker as well. Check the Atlantic logo on the front sleeve has SD 7200 which was the US Cat#

ady_lister 27th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumCrosby, Stills, Nash And Young - CSNY 1974 (2014) | I think they 'borrowed' the concept slightly from The Paramount Records Box Set. The large format Book and Wooden Folio Case holding the records come in an etched wooden box (not pictured) and the whole thing weighs about 25lbs. Limited to 1,000 copies and $499 retail. I live in the UK but thankfully they put: Value $1.00 on the Customs form.
At the time of writing, it is the only release of CSNY 1974 on vinyl. (Hence why I had to have it :)

ady_lister 25th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumCrosby, Stills, Nash And Young - 4 Way Street (1971) | Added covers and the rest of the labels. I bought this sealed but I don't think its an original cos the inners have adverts for albums released in 1973. I'm guessing the Rockefeller Plaza address is later than the Broadway one?
ady_lister 10th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumBent Fabric - Operation Lovebirds (1967) | With a nod to Trainman I've added Back cover and a slightly clearer front cover.
ady_lister 4th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Young / Neil And The Shocking Pinks - Everybody's Rockin' (1983) | Promo Copies are Stickered and pressed on Quiex Vinyl. A test for this is to hold the vinyl up to a strong light. It should have a slightly translucent quality.
ady_lister 21st Dec 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Young And Crazy Horse - Life (1987) | Matrix have the US Cat# GHS-A-24154-INTL-1 and GHS-B-24154-INTL-2 which makes me think this is US pressed for Export.
ady_lister 30th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumLed Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin I (1991) | Added sleeve and labels. German pressed 80s issue for Euro market. Kinney UK Cat# in a German Cat# Sleeve.
ady_lister 30th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumYes - Yessongs (1973) | Added back cover and labels. The fold out sleeve is US Issue with UK Cat# Sticker on rear.

ady_lister 29th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord (1968) | Added a slight label variation. Bottom copyright text. Stereo aligned with the BIEM/NCB. Matrix Number is right way up and no J/T code.
ady_lister 21st Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumLegend - Legend (1970) | Gets my award for worst Verty cover.
ady_lister 8th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Wowie Zowie! (1969) | I'll argue based on the rear sleeve and label text that this should simply be called Wowie Zowie If they'd put the The World of... underneath the title on the front sleeve no one would have ever thought that was the title of the album. I mean c'mon... No one calls it Please Please Me with Love Me Do and 12 other songs do they?
ady_lister 8th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumSimon And Garfunkel - Simon & Garfunkel (1967) | Added sleeve and labels. The deadwax has the US cat# PC 3059 which makes me suspect its an export with UK labels.
ady_lister 6th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Smash Sounds (1967) | Added label variation. Not sure where it's from. WBlbl if you're reading: if jamieeduado's is from MOnarch, then who pressed my copy?
ady_lister 25th Oct 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - The Beach Boys 1962 / 1965 (1978) | My copy is on black vinyl and has a Sonopresse credit on rear sleeve.

ady_lister 9th Aug 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Flaming Lips - Zaireeka (2013) | [YouTube Video]
ady_lister 9th Aug 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Flaming Lips - Zaireeka (2013) | A work of Avant-Garde genius or wasteful stupidity? The artistic concept behind Zaireeka is that the 4 Separate discs be played simultaneously to produce a wall of sound effect.
Difficult enough to accomplish on CD in 1997 when most homes had only one player, this vinyl version requires 4 turntables running in sync in order to realise Zaireeka as it was intended.
If you’re lucky enough to have some DJ friends, try and organize a Zaireeka party for the ultimate in sonic indulgence.
Failing that, use a USB output and try and merge the songs that way.

ady_lister 6th Aug 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJoe Cocker - Mad Dogs & Englishmen (1970) | Yeah, the gatefold folds out again sort of a quadfold(?) I'll add it when I get time...
ady_lister 2nd Aug 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJoe Cocker - Mad Dogs & Englishmen (1970) | Arragh! I went and added the labels and realised my dad's copy is AMLS 6002 Does that mean I have to create a different entry?
ady_lister 2nd Aug 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Young - Tonight's The Night (1975) | The bravest album ever made by a mainstream artist. Tonight’s The Night was inspired by the heroin related deaths of Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whitten and roadie Bruce Berry.
The LP insert includes a reprint from a Dutch magazine in which a journalist is promised an interview with Young provided he can source 17 bottles of Jose Cuevo Gold Label Tequila to fulfil the rider at Young’s gig at The Rainbow that weekend.
The cover is notoriously printed on a weird kind of Blotter style paper designed to degrade and it’s exceptionally difficult to find clean examples these days.
