ajtharp 10th Nov 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumQueen - Jazz (1978) | @Break-In Master,
My best guess is that Elektra wanted to give some record dealers the option of ordering copies of the album without the nude bicycle race poster, 6E-166 does have the poster while 6E-170 just comes with an order form that you had to fill out and mail in order to get the poster.
6E-170 was probably designed to be a 2nd option for record dealers who feared being arrested for 'Distributing Pornography to Minors', or ones that might not stock the album on moral grounds.

The MCA reissue now has its own entry along with its front cover, all we need now is someone to add the correct RCA front cover here.

ajtharp 24th Mar 2023 | | Vinyl AlbumSantana - Lotus (1974) | This is one of Santana’s least known albums outside of Japan, for the simple reason that until 1991 it was not released in the US.
Carlos Santana: “It was beautiful and ambitious and the music was fresh, but it was nothing that Columbia could handle. With the album cover and packaging and the three disks, it was just too expensive for them. They didn’t believe it would sell enough. Even after the Japanese finally released Lotus in the summer of 1974 and it became the bestselling import at the time, Columbia wouldn’t budge, and even Bill Graham couldn’t make them.”
