gregs45s SUBS 23rd Jan 2016		Vinyl Album Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue (2016)	I just got this this evening at the newsagents.Quite impressed with the concept/packaging and overall presentation,and there is a fair bit to read with the booklet,fold-out and all the leaflets (to follow) with offers to maintain interest,but,when it came to the crunch,i'm afraid that first impressions of the actual recording were that it's a rather "tinny" affair,with little depth,now that could of course be down to my USB turntable,which i admit is very "toppy",but even so,it sounds much brighter than a lot of the other albums that i play on the same turntable.So unless anyone else can confirm this,and until i get a half-decent turntable again to try it on,it would,perhaps be fairer to say that i'm unsure as regards to sound quality (i think i'm expecting too much for my £4.99;).MODS :Do you want just the housing and booklet/fold-out scans added to magazine world?,it's not a standard magazine as such,there's just an 8 page LP size booklet and an 8-way LP size fold-out (to large poster of the "Cotton Club")and some leaflets.

gregs45s SUBS 26th Nov 2015		Vinyl Album The Mama's And The Papa's - If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears (1966)	"Loo Scroll";) I must admit until i got a copy of this i wasn't aware of the cover variations as regards the "Scroll" over the toilet;)(I've also just noticed a Diaper Ad at the top of the homepage;).I've added a possible colour variation of telew1947's image,"The Mamas And The Papa's" being a much darker brown,also added a slightly sharper back cover scan and a label variation. Matrix (image 898754) =DS-50006-A -5 and LW (hand etched). Matrix (image 898755) =DS 50006B-1C and Bell Sound (machine stamped) and LW (hand etched). My copy also has a "Sunrise" or "Sunset" generic Dunhill inner.

gregs45s SUBS 9th Nov 2015		Vinyl Album Take Six - Work In (1979)	I think i see the problem here,because it's a mainly plain sleeve,ICE often has trouble in detecting/stitching such sleeves together because it has nothing to "fix" on,i get round it by cutting up a small piece of dark paper(if it's a light sleeve,or white if it's a dark sleeve) (say 2mm x 2cm),and scanning it 4 times (the normal way if you've got a small scanner),let the piece of paper overlap in the plain corners,scan,then merge as normal in ICE (so you end up with a cover with four pieces of paper in each corner or side) then use "Paint" to erase the paper.hope that helps:)

gregs45s SUBS 29th Oct 2015		Vinyl Album Charlie Mingus - Tijuana Moods (1962)	Review Charlie got the best out of his sidemen here.Inspired by a trip to Tijuana.Recorded in 1957 but not released till 1962.Interesting ensembles,with riffs that stick in the mind,making it worthy of investigation. ✔︎ Helpful Review?

gregs45s SUBS 7th Oct 2015		Vinyl Album Freddie Starr - Freddie Starr (1978)	Those of us of a certain age know Freddie (now 72) as a daft so-and-so,but with a half-decent voice;)indeed,in the early sixties he was the lead singer of Merseyside group "The Midnighters",and here,his version of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' " and his side two tribute to Elvis is pretty good,("Special thanks to Paul McCartney for his assistance on vocals" ;).
