Jake Leither 25th Sep 2017 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/ronnie-dove-the-best-of-ronnie-dove-volume-2-3-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumRonnie Dove - The Best Of Ronnie Dove, Volume 2 (1967) | ReviewRonnie's seventh and final album for Diamond Records (also the last LP put out by the label) and Ronnie's second compilation album. The album features four original songs in addition to the hits. Something of note is the song "Back from Baltimore", originally issued as the B-side of Ronnie's minor chart hit "Dancing Out of My Heart", is included while the A-side is omitted. "Baltimore" is a fine Neil Diamond produced and written song, written for Ronnie after his producer Phil Kahl refused to let him record "Red Red Wine". Another Diamond track ("My Babe") is also included. The closing track is enough to bring tears to your eyes as well. Ronnie's talent as a singer is evident in this album, as it is in all his others as well. Worth picking up!

Jake Leither 25th Sep 2017 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/ronnie-dove-cry-4-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumRonnie Dove - Cry (1967) | ReviewRonnie Dove's sixth album for Diamond Records is by far his most different in my opinion. The album culls mostly from the American songbook. Indeed, several of the songs on the album (including the title track) were originally recorded by Johnnie Ray. That having been said, in my opinion, he blows away Johnnies versions. The album contains two of Ronnie's chart hits, "One More Mountain to Climb", and the title track, which earned Ronnie an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1967. Also included is a beautiful song called "Autumn Rhapsody", which was used as the B-side of "Cry". Overall, a very solid listen and very enjoyable album worth purchasing!

Jake Leither 21st Sep 2017 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/ronnie-dove-ronnie-dove-sings-the-hits-for-you-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumRonnie Dove - Ronnie Dove Sings The Hits For You (1966) | ReviewRonnie's fifth LP for Diamond Records, and my personal favorite! This album contains his hits "I Really Don't Want to Know", "Let's Start All Over Again", "Happy Summer Days", and "Mountain of Love" (which wasn't issued as a single until 1968). The album also features Ronnie's excellent renditions of standards like "A Slow Boat to China" and "Someday (You'll Want Me To Want You", and excellent original tunes as well. My only complaint is that side one is much longer in length than side two. The songs themselves though, are incredible, Ronnie really outdid himself on this album! A must for fans of 60s vocalists and standards!

The LP contains his then current hit "When Liking Turns to Loving", a very romantic song and a Top 20 hit for Ronnie. The album pulls all his hits up to that point (8 of them) and 4 of his best LP cuts from the previous albums. This was Ronnie's best selling album, peaking at #36 on the Top 200, and according to Ronnie, was awarded a gold record.

Jake Leither 21st Sep 2017 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/ronnie-dove-ill-make-all-your-dreams-come-true-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumRonnie Dove - I'll Make All Your Dreams Come True (1965) | ReviewRonnie Dove's third album release for Diamond Records. Unlike his first two albums, this album contains mostly original compositions, including one from a little known singer songwriter named Neil Diamond. Also contained are Ronnie's next two singles, the title track and "Kiss Away", one of my favorites of Ronnie's. All the other tracks on the album hang together quite well, one of my favorites being "How I Wish The Nights were Longer". A solid album all around and a must for fans of mellow vocalists and 60s pop.

This album, like his first, dips in to the American songbook with songs like "All of Me" and "Nevertheless". A great followup album for Ronnie Dove that somehow only peaked at #119 on Billboards Top 200 Album chart.

Jake Leither 21st Sep 2017 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/ronnie-dove-right-or-wrong-2-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumRonnie Dove - Right Or Wrong (1964) | ReviewA great solo debut album for Ronnie Dove! It contains his hits "Right or Wrong", "Say You", and "Hello Pretty Girl". It is also worth noting that both sides of his first Diamond single are also contained on the album, "Sweeter than Sugar" b/w "I Beleived in You". The mono and stereo versions differ slightly. All in all, an excellent debut album from Ronnie Dove!

For example, Back From Baltimore was written by Neil Diamond, The Wedding Song is not by Leiber and Stoller, etc. and how the back cover touts that Wheel of Fortune was a big hit, when it wasn't even issued as a single.
