mojofilter 4th Oct 2024		Vinyl Album Bob Seger And The Last Heard - Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings 1966-1967 (2018)	I had a good look at the waveforms, and the songs are all vinyl transfers. They missed a couple of noises on the fade-outs of a few of them, and all appear to be gain-boosted and hard limited. Not egregiously, but the waveform is bigger than it should be. Still, it sounds OK for record transfers.

There's a mistake on the label of Side 2 that carried over from the first pressings. Track 1 is called "The Mountain And Maryann" (see back cover), but the label has it "Mountains And Marion."

mojofilter 10th Jun 2023		Vinyl Album Gordon Lightfoot - Early Lightfoot (1971)	Added a new set of covers and labels, nod to ppint. This album is fake stereo mixes of these singles: Chateau 142, Chateau 148, Chateau 152 (The track called "Adios Adios" on this album is titled "Meet Me In Michoacan" on the single), and the B-side only of Chateau 156, with three other previously unreleased songs. I've read that Gordon bought as many copies of this album as he could find, so he could destroy them.
mojofilter 8th Jun 2023		Vinyl Album B.B. Gabor - Girls Of The Future (1981)	B.B. Gabor and Girls Of The Future were released on CD once, in 2006, by Canadian label Pacemaker. They made about 1000 copies. I sent them an e-mail asking if it would ever be made available again. I received the reply from management that Gabor was signed to ATV Music as a songwriter. They paid for the recording sessions, and leased the masters to Anthem. It is a highly unusual thing for a publisher to own masters, and as making records isn't strictly their business, they aren't much interested in it. They were unwilling to do another lease arrangement with Pacemaker to keep it in print, but also unwilling to release any of his works themselves. So there likely will never be another Gabor CD. That's why it goes for three figures, if one ever comes up for sale.

The album title spoofs a commercial jingle of the period for Libby's canned vegetables.
mojofilter 31st May 2023		Vinyl Album The Merseyboys - 15 Great Songs Composed By John, Paul & George (1964)	There's this album, https://www.45worlds.com/vinyl/album/33169 also from 1964, that has the 4 Polydor tracks with The Beatles on them. Of the remaining eight, an unknown studio group called The Swallows do two Lennon/McCartney songs by Gerry & The Pacemakers and Billy J. Kramer (somehow a Freddie & The Dreamers song snuck in there), and the rest are covers of Beatles tracks. They don't sound like they're having much fun. They had to copy The Rolling Stones' arrangement of "I Wanna Be Your Man" because they hadn't heard The Beatles' recording of it yet.

Some speculate that it is Apple group Mortimer. A3 Unconfirmed artist - I Want You (She's So Heavy) - the jury is still out on who performs this uptempo version that was made into an acetate. This LP is the original source. On every other bootleg where it appears, it can be traced back to a dub from this LP. mojofilter 6th Apr 2023		Vinyl Album MacLean And MacLean - Bitter Reality (1980)	Burton Cummings plays the character of lounge singer Frankie Fontaine on track A6, and sings two off-color songs, with band accompaniment. At the time, Burton's management was adamant that they would not let MacLean & MacLean put it on their album, lest it damage his career. But the recording started getting airplay on Toronto FM radio, and they relented. It was released, and nothing bad happened to Burton's career.

A2 "Woman" should be credited to Andy Fraser and Paul Rodgers (Free), Two of the pressings left the 's' off Paul Williams' name in A4 "Out In The Country," all pressings leave out the 'i' in Joe Schermie's name in B1 "Rock And Roll Widow." It is shown erroneously in the entry as "Scherma."
