OldMod67 26th Dec 2020		Vinyl Album The V.I.P.s [mod Revival] - Need Somebody To Love (2020)	Tracks identical to 90s Beat Crazy collection, which includes all singles, including the split ROK label 45, the Music For Funsters debut and the band's second track on the ROK sampler LP. Writing credits differ from previous releases. No credits on label, credits taken from inner sleeve. Lyrics to Hippy Hippy Shake are not included, presumably as a cover. Delayed due to pressing issues, preordered copies surfaced in time for Christmas 2020. Glorious package, although discrepancies between label, sleeve and inner. e.g. sleeve and label read Boy Of The City. Typo on inner reads Love Ia A Golden Word.. I've got all the 45s bar the 1978 one, so very pleased to have a great run of singles all in one place. A Christmas present, my first V.I.Ps record since the eighties. Sounds amazing! Update: HOWEVER! There is a bit of surface noise towards the end of side one. Not very apparent on the portable deck downstairs, but on another it is more noticeable. I assumed it was a dubbed from disc issue, but seems not. Optic Nerve are repressing and replacing! Update #2: The repressing happened; all good!

Variations on the 1985 release exist, including mine, pressed in Germany for sale in UK. This edition has no barcode on rear sleeve. Inner sleeve does not photograph well (for me!) It is a white poly-lined inner with printed lyrics.

Not sure if this was the reason. It was reissued, circa 1990/91, but in a black sleeve and on a different label.

OldMod67 22nd Oct 2020		Vinyl Album The Beatles - Reel Music (1982)	I didn't buy this back then (although I bought the Medley 7" ) as it seemed a bit unnecessary. However, regarding the chart position, or lack of, a comment on the Official Charts website left in 2019 stated that the album did indeed chart in 1982. Apparently it reached #56. The site has not been amended, can anyone out there confirm this? One (or more) members out there probably has a cupboard full of Music Week mags or similar, I bet....
