Vinyl Album
The Times - Pop Goes Art (1982)
Side A run out (in full) : ART 20 A1. (WHAM L.P. 1 A- crossed out) A PORKY PRIME CUT
Side B run out (in full) : ART 20 1 J (WHAM L.P. 1 B -crossed out) THIS IS TOMORROW. A PORKY PRIME CUT.

Track listing printed on to three small stickers, stuck to rear of sleeve.

This particular copy was purchased early 1984 and features a colour hand-drawn sleeve by Andrew Ball.
The design is red, yellow, green traffic lights (with Pop on green) GOES, in red and a can of ART! (Coke) with The Times in bubbles from the can.
Obviously loads of designs around, but one I saw just the once (and should have got) featured an actual collage on to the sleeve, resembling Yellow Submarine, maybe even using Beatles cut-outs, if I recall correctly. A similar feel to the reverse of Up Against It (1986)

The Times - Enjoy (1986)
Side One run out : THANK YOU FOR HAVING US.....
Side Two run out : BUT NOW WE MUST GO.
I also saw this on sale in London, after I had mine, with a sleeve sticker noting the Frank Summit saga.
Tracklist as label & sleeve. On vinyl, Think Big! is A5
At the time of this album's release I was convinced it was going to be their last, as apart from tying up the Frank Summit series the L.P. seemed quite 'final'; even referencing their first single on the album's closing song. The Times did resume record releases later on though.
I've also entered 1986 as the release date, which is on the cover and label and every site I've seen it on. A November '86 issue of In The Crowd stated it 'should have appeared by the time you read this'. I was always quite 'up' on the band, but my white inner is dated 2-87 printwise, so I'm no longer sure. Perhaps a Times collector can clarify this please?

Vinyl Album
The Times - Up Against It : Joe Ortons Screenplay For The Beatles (1986)
Side One run out : CRANBERRY JOHN...
Side Two run out : JOHN'S IN BED - KISS HIM MISS HIM
MPO pressing
Spelling & grammar as per release. Apostrophe from subtitle (Orton's) is on front cover, but missing on label text. Sound track printed as two words. Boys About Town (without apostrophe) on label. Also, the Beatles (label); the beatles (cover).
These errors aside, 1986 was a great year for my taste in albums, this being one of them!

Vinyl Album
Various Artists - The Beat Generation And The Angry Young Men (1984)
Label states 'Recorded and mixed some time between 1979 and 1984 not far from Bermondsey'
Not sure when in 1984 I got this, but it was advertised on the rear of Extraordinary Sensations modzine (#12) and reviewed inside by Gary Bushall (Bushell), who was often positive reviewing revival era bands in the music press in '79.
Interestingly, the review mentions volume 2, 'expected to feature The Mods, Beggar, The Chords, The Onlookers and another couple of '79 bands..hopefully including Directions' Three Bands Tonite'.

Transvision Vamp - Pop Art (1988)
Sorry I can't scan it, but for extra information, I was still with an indie shop back then and MCA reps (being good promoters) had a numbered promo to give out. It came in a custom sleeve, thin pink with band logo and L.P. title (but no track listing!) Numbered on a sticker and signed by the band, the record itself was a white label copy. I do still have it boxed away, so will dig it out in case I've missed any details.

Vinyl Album
The Jetset - There Goes The Neigbourhood (1985)
It was some, not all signed on the cover. Info at the time stated 1000 pressed, first 500 signed. I bought my copy (back then) from The Merc, unsigned. It came with the poster, but no flyer. This being the pink sleeve/label edition, by the way.
The album later came with blue sleeve/label and then a limited edition with paste-on green artwork, signed by the band and including a b&w photo. This last edition used a regular blue label release, but the rear sleeve listed WORK 1-X as the cat.no.
Scheduled release date added. Not sure if this was adhered to.

The Ventures - Mashed Potatoes And Gravy (1962)
Also available with pale blue Dolton label, dark blue text. Unfortunately not able to scan these.
Incidentally, one of the first albums I owned, sometime in late 1977/early 1978. My parents acquired another old stereo, including a few records. This was one of them, so a happy 10 year old!

Vinyl Album
13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere (1988)
Part of a reissue campaign of the IA catalogue (advertised in glorious, glossy colour in Strange Things mag) The cover and label on mine state MADE IN EEC, but the details on reverse are for Charly, UK.
I have seen the Decal version online, with the correct Postures title on the label. The edition had the SPA logo, which mine does not, so I'm unsure about pressings etc. My copy is MPO though.

The 13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators (1978)
Runnout:
Side One WEA 56596 A MT. 410 W 292
Side Two WEA 56596 B MT 410 W 292

Whilst dated 1978, this is a later pressing. I plucked it from an import catalogue, when my local independent was compiling an order, probably 1985

Lambrettas - Ambience (1981)
One of a number of vinyl LPs I'm revisiting after a long absence. I'm finding this a lot more enjoyable now than I did back then, as a fifteen or sixteen year old Mod kid!

Nine Below Zero - Third Degree (1982)
No ratings on this, but as I've been reappraising some of my records these last few days I thought I'd pop some on. I've owned this copy for 37 years or so and despite it being my least played of their original three, it's still pretty good!

Naz Nomad And The Nightmares - Give Daddy The Knife Cindy (2011)
I missed this totally, what a glorious looking reissue! There has been a few of them now. When I got mine (late 1984 I think) I'd missed the purple vinyl. I missed these too... I dug this out and played it a few weeks back, first time in ages; really enjoyed it.

Vinyl Album
The Chocolate Watch Band - Forty Four (1984)
Just wondering about the inner bag for this. Anything special, or plain? I didn't get mine until maybe early 1986 (Our Price, Commercial Road, Bournemouth incidentally) and apart from it being a white label on side one, the inner sleeve was promoting the 'Now...' LPs; one side featuring the covers, up to #5, with Now Dance,The 12" mixes and The Christmas Album, the other having their complete track lists. Disappointing ......

The Left Banke - And Suddenly It's... (1984)
Marked as owned and I did buy it in 1984 (says 1983 on rear cover) ; however, it wasn't until this site that I realised I should have had an insert with it, like the other Bam-Caruso LPs. I'm assuming now it was left in the record shop's masterbag.... Black inner bag, by the way

Belinda Carlisle - Heaven On Earth (1987)
Yes, a big thanks on that leonard! I often noticed the bass clef in the eighties, on the Stax issues (and some Big Beat too) coming out of Ace. Nice to know its origin, ta.
