I don't think I've played this in 25 years, but popped a few tracks on last night. I picked it up about '84 for about a quid (maybe less) but didn't realise until this site that it came with a lyric sheet, not that I'd sing along...
OldMod67 30th Nov 2019		Vinyl Album The Beatles - Rock 'N' Roll Music Vol 1 (1980)	With all the festive stuff kicking in, I just had a flashback to a TV ad (which may have been Woolworths) from the run-up to Christmas 1980. The Beatles are back on MFP! Then of course it was that fateful December that Fab fans remember so well...... There was also a competition in The Beatles Monthly to win white labels of these. I entered, or course; I didn't win one (of course)

Despite its dubious origins the owner ordered it in from an import catalogue for sale instore, not a customer special order (although she may well have had me in mind....)

I last played mine in the early eighties and do remember it having sound issue of some sort, a bit echoey (not a real word I know!) But perhaps it's time for a revisit (definitely still have it).

Just wondered about the priority of entries here; the mid-price issue is listed as 1983 (although I'm convinced it was very late 80s!) but is it listed first due to it having a cover illustration, as before my amendment these were both just '1983' ? Also, the ad posted on the mid-price entry page would have been for this edition.
OldMod67 5th Oct 2019		Vinyl Album The Who - The Who Sell Out (1981)	A few shops did sell these individually, although what they did with the packaging is anyone's guess... I picked up Sell Out, A Quick One and Who's Next at Setchfields in Poole (a great source of albums in the very early 80s, including the original first Teardrop Explodes LP, mod/ska revivalists Graduate's LP and the Rocket sampler 4992139) I don't recall seeing any others from Phases though, but these were the only ones I needed so I may have just forgotten with the passing of time!
OldMod67 15th Sep 2019		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Hot Hits Volume One (1985)	I've reluctantly left the release date blank on entry. The sleeve is undated, the plain inner has a manufactured date of October '85. Label credits are 1985, except Side One, track 2, 1984. Sleeve notes list forthcoming releases in the text as coming in the new year (e.g. Jetset Go Bananas! which was indeed 1986). The Jetsetmania CD notes list it as June '85, but I have seen Hot Hits listed elsewhere with an '86 release date and I did buy it pretty much on release, but at this point in time I've no clear memory of EXACTLY when......

The censored line reads 'Produced by Mike Berry'. The label itself lists Charles Berman in this role.
OldMod67 18th Aug 2019		Vinyl Album The Jazz All-Stars - Thunderball & Other Secret Agent Themes (1966)	7226power - I'm presuming your copy is mono? My sleeve has the ALL 807 cat.no but with a gold STEREO sticker on the front cover, top right, just below it. This is missing from the illustration here, which would be just above The last L of THUNDERBALL . Also,there is an additional number below, DLP-206. The vinyl has the claret stereo label and S ALL 807 number.

BUY ME THE CLASH Incidentally, I specifically typed and confirmed the titles as per label, 'correcting' it to match, for example lower case 'o' in '..of Greenwood..' and 't' in '..turning Brouchard' . However on submission and viewing entry, it seems that some have reverted to capitals. Maybe I had to confirm, confirm, or something. Apologies if my error though.
OldMod67 11th Jun 2019		Vinyl Album The Beatles - The Beatles Ballads (1980)	I'd forgotten all about this LP! I recall it coming out, but had the tracks so passed on it. I did however cadge the display sleeve from my local record shop,even without buying one. I loved the illustration,which I had in a book, despite Ringo's 'wrong' hand freaking me out and it was on the bedroom door for most of 1981. Regarding the cover, the illustration is included in The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics, edited by Alan Aldridge (pages 6 & 7),1969, reissued in 1980.

OldMod67 25th Mar 2019		Vinyl Album Bangles - All Over The Place (1984)	This Dutch pressing was also widely available in the UK. I picked mine up around late 1984, after the first issue of Going Down To Liverpool (stamped on rear with the 'property of CBS. Demonstration only. Not for sale' wording). At the bottom rear of the LP sleeve after Made in Holland are the UK details,including the PPL ,Ganton Street address. Image added.

I remember this gold vinyl pressing still being on sale in Uptown Records in Bournemouth in 1979/80 (unfortunately one of those 'lack of funds situations' we all have at one time or another..)

Rex - Bolan's Zip Gun (1983)	I picked this re-packaged LP up in Soho around 1985, in a gatefold sleeve,the other side of which contained a bonus 12" single. The rear sleeve had a shot of Marc in his robes, sat on an old Lambretta. I've seen two other pics from this session, but always wondered when it was shot; any Bolan experts out there have any idea please?
OldMod67 3rd Sep 2015		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Mods Mayday '79 (1979)	Correct about the Four 1 stickers being later. The BHLP003 were first pressings (& misprint sleeve) picked up by Arista and repressed with the new cat no with label and sleeve amended accordingly with a black and white Bridgehouse label. I'll have to dig them out but somewhere I've got both editions plus a dodgy pressing from the mid-eighties, possibly on Castle (?) label...
