pudgym 8th Nov 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumCulture Club - Waking Up With The House On Fire (1985) | This was the second picture disc I bought at 'Big Apple Records & Tapes' in Norridge, IL. for 99¢.
pudgym 8th Nov 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJacksons - Victory (1984) | I bought this in the late 1980s after returning to Chicago. It cost 99¢. The store was called 'Big Apple Records & Tapes'. If I recall correctly, it was on Forest Preserve Drive east of Harlem Avenue in Norridge, IL. It was a competitor to 'Rolling Stones Records' {still around} two blocks away at Forest Preserve Dr. and Irving Park Road.

It is not up for sale.

pudgym 8th Nov 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush (1968) | In Shindig! magazine #109, Andy Ellison confirms that Tony Visconti arranged all the string sections on this soundtrack LP.
pudgym 8th Nov 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumJames Brown - It's A Mother (1969) | Somebody is really delusional here.
I bought this LP, cutout, for 10¢ at a Kee | Musicland sidewalk sale back in the late 1970s.
It is not for sale.
pudgym 8th Nov 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumMarty Brill - The Missing Tapes (1974) | Oops. That was actually attributed to this National Lampoon record.
pudgym 12th Jul 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumBette Midler - The Divine Miss M (1973) | One of the very rare LPs which had a Quadraphonic, a Stereo, and a Monaural vinyl pressing {promo only}.
pudgym 30th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - 24 Happening Hits | Ohmigawd. This is actually on here?!
Of all the cut-out LPs I have bought going back to 1976, this is the one that I came to question as a bootleg. If it is, I apologize. But it was really cheap.
pudgym 28th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Rock N Roll Superstars (1979) | As for A4 and B3, are they re-recordings?
Nonetheless, "Little Honda", "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", and "Down In The Boondocks" were all post-British Invasion hits in the U.S.A. - as was "Drift Away". The album's title does not restrict the songs to the 1950s & 1960s.
pudgym 28th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumBob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band - Stranger In Town (1978) | @Groovy ,
You have the RCA Music Service issue of this album.
Could you upload images of the labels and album cover?
pudgym 7th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - 20 Original Winners Of 1964 (1965) | Hmmm...
This was released on Roulette Records.
Morris Levy felt each record was a "winner" in 1964.
Are you contending with something M. Levy states?!
Would you like a new pair of concrete shoes?

pudgym 31st Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThree Dog Night - Hard Labor (1974) | @Break-in master - what can I scribe? Some hoity-toity upper-level department store Rolodex riffler got the heebie-jeebies looking at the original 'birth' cover and threatened to not stock the LP unless the art was covered up.
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumRoxy Music - Country Life (1974) | Thank you Lee. Considering I bought most of my LPs by the pound {weight}, and that most of them have never been played, (I never bought a serious turntable. The record player on which some of these were played -- but perhaps thankfully, most of them were K-Tel compilations, was {is[!]} a Webcor 1960 portable turntable that plays all four speeds); I may have a few LPs with titillating covers. {Oddly enough, the first Andrea True LP cover is not particularly arousing. The sheet music for "More, More, More" shows more flesh, but does not cross the line into NSFW.}
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumRoxy Music - Country Life (1974) | Without having this LP (believe me, if this had turned up in any cut-out bin I shopped, even if it cost $2.99, I would have bought it), or hearing any of the tracks thereupon, can I give this release a 10? |=p}

pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Cash - Everybody Loves A Nut (1966) | Fine print: Cover art by Jack Davis.
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDel Shannon - This Is My Bag (1966) | A3 & B3 show composer as Del Shannon. B5 shows as D. Shannon. Come on, people - some proof reading or consistency here, please.
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Original Early Top 40 Hits (1973) | By then, record companies had realized that putting side 1 and side 2 on the same physical platter (and side 3 and side 4 on the second disc) meant whoever was playing the album had to get up (from whatever he [| she?] was doing)(what? OK - in the throes of an orgasm) and physically turn over the discs twice. Putting side 1 on the same platter as side 4 meant he | she would only have to do this once.
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Spuds MacKenzie's Party Faves (1988) | > "Artists featured in the compilation do not endorse Bud Light".
And neither do I.
(But - I do have a Michelob promo cassette with solid late 1980s | early 1990s tracks thereupon, of which at least one [a Genesis song] got on a Chicago POWER indoor soccer mix tape.)
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - 20 Famous Country Hits Volume 4 (1971) | Gave a "10" to Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" despite the consideration that, if he shot a man in Reno, which is in Nevada as far as I know.. although the contemporary situation of "fake news" may be tainting that; why is he serving a sentence in California?
(Solution: Johnny should[?] have shot the man in Truckee, which is in California. - Songwriter needs a two-syllable city in California - I just gave you one.)
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDean Martin - Everybody Loves Somebody (1964) | In their contemporaneous shows, Frank Sinatra facetiously referred to "Everybody Loves Somebody" (which he had originally recorded in the late 1940s!) as "Everybody's Gotta' Be Somewhere".
pudgym 13th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Beer Drinkin' Sing Alongs!! (1969) | @beggars road - It is OK. I had a "Beavis & Butthead" 1990s flashback moment. !=)}

pudgym 12th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumSpike Jones And His City Slickers - The Best Of Spike Jones (1975) | Reissued due to demand from airplay on the Dr. Demento Show.
pudgym 12th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Cruisin' 1965 Featuring Robert W. Morgan KHJ, Los Angeles (1973) | It pains me to give only a 9 to Ramsey Lewis; but you really should try to hear the full LP version of the tune. The repartee between Ramsey and the audience distinctly elevates the tune.
Hey, where did "Sweet Little Sixteen" get revived in 1965?
pudgym 12th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Cruisin' 1964 Featuring Johnny Holliday WHK, Cleveland (1973) | I am sorry. Only the full version of "The Girl From Ipanema" gets a 10 from me. But even the 7-inch disc is a great record.
pudgym 12th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Beer Drinkin' Sing Alongs!! (1969) | You wrote "hard". Heh heh heh heh. X=}}
