rocket666 7th Mar 2020		Vinyl Album Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories (1976)	Rather late than never. I think I can confirm that. My sides 3 and 4 match the design and typeface of your and mine sdes 1 and 2 perfectly. And my Short Stories, & Verities - along with Sniper are '76 issues!

rocket666 7th Mar 2020		Vinyl Album Elton John - Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player (1973)	There have been 4 (or more since vinyl revival) distinct issues of the Elton vinyl cataogue. First the DJLP originals. Second the DJH 20... reissues from 1977. Note Greatest Hits Vol II only commenced in this series. Third the DJM 22 (get it - 2too or twenty...times two) which Mr Hounsome in Rock Record 4, and I am happy to agree, date to 1981. Fourth the PRICELESS series from '83 (1) '84 (4) and '87 (8 more), which related to, but not neccssarily coincided with the first CD releases. So, umbria, as seen in various other places (e.g. the US MCA reissues), stickers for subsequent series regularly placed on earlier sleeves. Possibly not all versions on new vinyl/ labels, maybe stickers only placed on sleeves still holding earlier vinyl!! All of these do though deserve their own entry, and I for one am willing to pursue the task...one day. Great place to do it, and convince me to sort my incomplete sets.

rocket666 7th Mar 2020		Vinyl Album Elton John - Honky Chateau (1972)	I have 4 copies of the envelope version, even this comes in two varieties; 1. a 3" tuck in tab. 2. a 1.5" tuck in tab. 1. has no 'Made In England' & no 'STEREO'. A2 /B2 2. first, as above. 2. second, with 'Made In England' & 'STEREO' both sides. A3 /B3. 2. third, same as second. Above 4 all have photo individually stuck on with matt finish different to main cover grain surface, and the front sleeve text on these is embossed!! Also have 2 in standard gafefold, here the photo is an integral part of the main grainy cover. first is as (2. second) above - but A3 Rays/ B2 Rasputin. second is again 'Made In England' & 'STEREO' both sides - but A3 Rays/ B3. However all my labels state DIC JAMES MUSIC LIMITED in full - have no LTD anywhere. Perhaps that is the rarest, limited just to a side two label! Even my labels that match scans here in text very a mm or two in spacing between song titles, artist and producer..... Smooth gloss finish to DJH 20 reissue 1976 series and later PRICELESS reissues to follow in those respective places....

And my ABC sleeve holds a MCA rainbow label reissue (dated 1974). A small circular sticker is at the top right rear sleeve; text matches rainbow label MCL 1749 - plus (MAPS 11222).

A later, cheaper to produce, version comes in a black sleeve with printed red (for act) and white (for title) dots. This also has a re'justified label (fine print at bottom) layout. I have checked my two copies of each. All bought for 50p or less from Music and Video Exchange, Guernsey early 1990's work trip to flower festival!
