TheJudge 5th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumStefan Grossman - Yazoo Basin Boogie (1970) | Strongly inclined to agree, Fokeman. I've fleshed it out a bit from other sources.
|
TheJudge 5th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumTrees - On The Shore (1970) | We go by the label. Your comment will, however, point up the mistake.
|
TheJudge 4th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumLovin' Spoonful - Best In The West (1983) | Buddah was distributed by Pye/PRT here from '73 onwards, having previously been distributed by Polydor. I would assume that Buddah's recordings would have gone with whoever was distributing them at the time of release.
|
TheJudge 4th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Mugwumps - An Historic Recording (1967) | The issue isn't whether the 'h' is sounded or not, it's where the stress lies in the word. If the stress is on the first syllable, then 'a' is fine. If it's on the second syllable, then 'an' is far more euphonic. And I don't care what Oxford says...
|
TheJudge 21st Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumMike Harding - Mrs 'Ardin's Kid (1975) | Track 1 is the introduction to the gig by Tony Capstick. I suppose strictly speaking the track should be credited to him.

TheJudge 18th Nov 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumHawkwind - Quark, Strangeness And Charm (1986) | What an ugly mess! ;-(
|
TheJudge 1st Nov 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumBrand X - Product (1979) | Differs from the UK issue in that tracks A4 and B4 are swapped around.
Funny thing is, I prefer the sequence on the US one, possibly because this was the issue I bought first, only buying the UK one when I ruined my US copy. And So To F... seems much better as the closing track of Side 1.
Whichever track is placed as B4, it still cross-fades into April.

TheJudge 13th Apr 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - None (1955) | (Comment by mickey rat on the now-deleted entry on 45cat on 13 April 2018):
"Gilt-Edge was a subsidiary of 4-Star Sales (BMI) and this'd be a radio station only release to promote some of their songs. Must admit I've never seen a ten inch 45 with large centre hole. I once had a 4-Star white label promo-only '50s LP in a plain card sleeve with a selection of then-current 4-Star Sales songs."

TheJudge 10th Apr 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumJack Lancaster And Robin Lumley - Marscape (1976) | One of two concept albums Lancaster and Lumley made for RSO at this time. Peter And The Wolf was the other.
