vidman45 8th Jan 2015		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Everything Old Is New (1982)	Added missing scans to this entry. This is a sampler LP for the Ambient Sound series of 1982 doo-wop recordings by vintage acts from the original era in superb sound. The album art is confusing, with nearly identical front and back covers (the back is upside-down), and there is no track listing. The only way to find a song is to look at the labels. Sides A and B are only identified in the matrix numbers.
vidman45 8th Jan 2015		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Original Hits Volume 1 (1963)	With a nod to The Judge, I have added front and back covers and B-side label. I also added the year of release (1963). It was the first budget V-A comp that I bought during my first year in college, and it is still one of my favorites. It has some great obscurities for a 99 cent LP.

I found this LP in a regular record shop not long before the legitimate Million Dollar Quartet albums began to surface (early 1980's). The shrink wrap had a sticker calling it an "Import".

Front cover has a second catalog number in the lower-left corner. Back cover is completely redesigned with all of his LP's to that time displayed. Labels have the black and colors design. Sorry for the BB-hole in the cover.
vidman45 21st Dec 2014		Vinyl Album Rick Nelson - Four You (1981)	I have added missing scans to this item. I had previously added this 10" 33-1/3 RPM stereo EP to the 12" Singles World. I'm still not sure where this oddity belongs. Moderator may remove the incorrect entry.
vidman45 5th Dec 2014		Vinyl Album Various Artists - All This And World War II (1976)	I just read that this album will be issued as a double CD on 20 January, 2015. I pulled out my deluxe double LP, which I bought as a cut-out. I wish the reissuers better luck with their CD's. With a nod to RPFiller for adding this album, I have added some stitched scans. There is too much in the album box to scan everything - 36 page book, gatefold inner sleeve, labels, etc.

vidman45 21st Nov 2014		Vinyl Album Rusty Warren - Knockers Up! (1960)	I used to have several of Rusty's LP's. We had fun listening to them in the men's dormitory when I was in college. One night someone brought in an LP by Doug Clark and his Hot Nuts, which was more raunchy, so we gave up on Rusty after "Banned In Boston". I still have four Hot Nuts LP's, on the Jubilee subsidiary Gross Records, which I might add if anyone is interested. One of the freebies inside Rusty's albums was a wallet-size membership card for the "Knockers Up Club". Good times at college!

It is a double LP, Promo-Only stereo LP for radio stations to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Lowery Music Publishing Co of Atlanta, Georgia. You don't often see collections with The Beatles, Tommy Roe, Brenda Lee, Joe South, Lynn Anderson, et al.

vidman45 31st Oct 2014		Vinyl Album The Righteous Brothers - Just Once In My Life (1965)	Used or unsealed records often turn up with the wrong pressings, or even different records inside. If yours was a sealed album, the blame could fall on Philles, who was notorious for using cheap pressing plants. My first copy of mono PHLP-4007 was defective, and I returned it for a better copy.

vidman45 4th Oct 2014		Vinyl Album The Kingston Trio - Sing A Song With The Kingston Trio (1963)	None of the Trio members had anything to do with the recording of this album, except the photos of Bob and Nick on the cover. The 3rd guy is neither John nor Dave. The uncredited player on the album is said to have been Frank Hamilton, a former member of the Weavers. Per Benjamin Blake's book "The Kingston Trio On Record".

vidman45 23rd Aug 2014		Vinyl Album The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (1966)	Capitol did not remix the Pet Sounds album in true stereo until 1996 for the 30th Anniversary box set. It was turned into a 4-CD set with many alternate takes and a 38 page book.
vidman45 27th Jul 2014		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Beach Boys/Brian Wilson Rarities (1981)	I thought this Aussie V/A LP would be of interest to Beach Boys fans so I spent time scanning, stitching the gatefold cover and labels, and keying-in the tracks data. When I checked the site this morning, I found that I got no point for adding it, and it did not even make the Top 50. Maybe I added it at a busy time because it was not on the new additions page very long. It has some fairly obscure various-artist records on it relating to the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson, so check it out.
vidman45 9th Jul 2014		Vinyl Album Jan And Dean - The Jan & Dean Story (1980)	When you see those 4 Beachboys songs on a Jan & Dean album, it's usually a sign that all of the tracks are remakes - not the original Liberty recordings. I see no disclaimer or clues, except the copyright credit is not to Liberty, U.A., or EMI. Buyer beware.
