wordnwot 11th May 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumWally Whyton - It's Me, Mum (1968) | It seems that a mono version of this album exists TL 5476

wordnwot 8th Apr 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - 22 Electrifying Hits (1974) | IMHO a better than average collection of predominantly 1973 hits with not your normal run-of-the-mill chart trash that appears on most releases from this time.
Features amongst others:- Stealers Wheel - String Driven Thing - Isley Brothers - Geordie - Nazareth - Focus - Speedy Keen!
worth 50p anyday!

wordnwot 11th Mar 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Abbey Road (2017) | What a busy Label rim Text. Digital recordings from 2009 I see, nothing different in that respect as being available previously.
wordnwot 3rd Mar 2017 | | Vinyl AlbumSpirit - Twelve Dreams Of Doctor Sardonicus (1971) | pppppint Epic it was and always after Epic became their home for a while thereafter.
wordnwot 28th Jun 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumFairfield Parlour - From Home To Home (1970) | No doubt it, this Album is splendid in all the same ways their previous efforts as Kaleidoscope were, carefully crafted songs with great thought placed on the construction and content of the lyrics. Very enjoyable!

wordnwot 28th May 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumSimon And Garfunkel - Sounds Of Silence (1966) | Guys, I note that the earlier cat # shows up as the french release in a plenty.
wordnwot 28th May 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumLeonard Cohen - Greatest Hits (1975) | Rear sleeve Side 1 Song sequence shows Bird on the Wire as the closing track side 1 when it plays Track 4.

(data from Labelography Volume 2 by Jan Pettersson)

wordnwot 26th May 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumCaravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink (1971) | But why were Caravan 45's in UK released on Decca not Deram?
I think the Golf Girl Single came out well ahead of ITLOGAP while they were still on the Decca roster, ahead of a concious decision to assign them to Deram.
wordnwot 23rd May 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumYes - Yes (1969) | I've added the Kinney catalogue number K40034 because my copy has the Sleeve sticker on the back with this number hiding the old 588190 number beneath. But my vinyl has 588190 cat number making mine a mixture.
wordnwot 13th May 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumSantana - Santana (1969) | The sleeve, when framed makes really fabulous house art wall decoration.
wordnwot 7th May 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumNilsson - Aerial Ballet (1968) | With a massive nod to janiejones's sterling work in adding all the stuff on this entry I took the liberty of uploading the 1st press black labels for everyone to see.
wordnwot 25th Apr 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumNilsson - Aerial Ballet (1968) | Not really been a fan of Nilsson but on finding this gem in the charity shop rack and having a listen, you can see straight away why his writing talents were highly regarded and his singing and the production is of a high standard indicating some thought went into the album creation process.
wordnwot 16th Apr 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Who - My Generation (1965) | Matrix first pressings seem to be MG-10256-1B and MG-10257-1B
Question:
Do MG-10256-1A and MG-10257-1A exist out there, maybe somewhere??

wordnwot 25th Mar 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumNana Mouskouri - Turn On The Sun (1970) | Even though the STL 5xxx series had come to an end by May/June 1970, it appears that there remained a stack of black labels that were assigned to the new 7 number cat codes beginning with 6 although not sure how long these lasted before the blue labels became the norm on fontana.
wordnwot 12th Mar 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumDr. Marigold’s Prescription - Pictures Of Life (1969) | Such an Imaginative LP front cover image from an unexpected record label indeed.

wordnwot 25th Jan 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumPretty Things - S.F. Sorrow (1968) | Reading the thread of comments especially Columbia singles, it cements in my mind that this LP and the singles releases were probably born out of a new enthusiasm found by the band from working with Norman Smith and caused them too get over indulgent in trying to mimic Sgt Peppers and lost sight of the fact that they were not really a successful band like the Beatles were.
This album although brilliant was a step too far in terms of complexity and attempting to get the attention of a larger audience. Perhaps a complete re-branding group name change might have kicked this album off more successfully and caught the public's interest.
