| | Added front cover, back cover and original pressing label images. The 1979 repressings of The 13th Floor Elevators releases can be identified by "Masterfonics" written in the dead wax. Although this album has been accepted as being titled "The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators", the only place this shows up is on the back cover (not on front cover, spine or labels), thus explaining the confusion of many as to the correct title.
The album had two "charting" singles on Billboard Hot 100:
"You're Gonna Miss Me" peaked at #55.
"Reverberation" bubbled under at #129 for one week.
This is the stereo version and it was also released in mono. Original mono labels were the same color but the print was yellow while the stereo version had silver printing. |

| | Linked to 2008 Sundazed and 1978 Radar re-issues but once again the correct title of this album is "The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators". |

| | The master tapes are lost, so you will not hear better sounding than the original pressing of the LP. Here is a ripped mint copy, it has had some processing but is a joy to listen to, much better than any CD I've heard. Note that they sequenced the tracks to match the original text, and there are bonus tracks added after the LP tracks, listen with headphones for best results:
and if you shelled out £££ for the 'Sign Of The Three Eyed Men" boxset and found the Contact Sessions CD totally unlistenable then be extra disappointed by this excellent quality version by the same people:
Mod edit: dead you tube links deleted
Why can't reissue CD producers get it right? |

| | Hey wax_museum is it more like this copy. I think that's the closest thing they have listed on discwrongs no date though. Do you have an insert or recall having one? |

| | God knows what incarnation mine is. The run-out matrix is IA-LP-1 A/B dep on side. The back cover is blank above the "STEREO L. P. - 1 A - No. 1" with line. Nowhere written The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators. |

| | According to the other site (?) this will either be the original release or a 1979 re-release. The turquoise label makes me think that it is the 1979 version however the date is correct as the cat# is the same both copies. If you have a look at the pics on the links you'll be able to work it out as the labels for each album are slightly different in the tracklisting layout and perhaps colour too. Oh, the correct title for the album in any incarnation is "The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators". So a correction is need on that wax_museum. |
