| | The reasons RCA terminated their licencing to HMV records had nothing to do with Elvis Presley.
The decision to seek another outlet for RCA product was made earlier in the 1950s; due to EMI competing in the US. The EMI purchase of CAPITOL records in 1955 hastened the divorce. The two companies had "exchanged matrixes" for about 50 years and the RCA discs were embedded in EMI catalogues. In mid 1957 DECCA in Britain began manufacturing and distributing new RCA material. That;s why All Shook Up is on HMV and Teddy Bear just a few weeks later is on RCA.
EMI were allowed to keep issuing and selling RCA sourced product until September 1958. After that it was RCA (Decca) all the way until the 1970s. |

| | In fairness to Memphis Martin I think he was stating that it was Elvis' HMV back catalogue that was deleted in the UK, not the actual recordings themselves. That's my reading of it anyway.
'
Apparently RCA Victor in the States weren't happy with the lack of promotion given to Elvis material by HMV in Britain and did a deal with Decca for them to manufacture and distribute Elvis recordings here on the RCA label under license instead.
The deal allowed Decca to release all of Elvis' current and past material on it's RCA label including recordings that had previously been released in the UK by HMV (EMI). Examples of this include Hound Dog & All Shook Up. Elvis records issued in the UK on the original HMV label are always sought after by collectors and can be quite valuable. |

| | n. b. "the h.m.v. catalogue" was not deleted in 9/58; h.m.v./the gramophone company/e.m.i. ltd.'s uk & (most of the) british commonwealth, and other territories' licence to rca's recordings by elvis presley determined, so records issued by them under the licence could no longer be sold by e.m.i. |

| | @whitewhale1965:
RCA in England used this album as an opportunity to restore to the catalogue tracks that were now unavailable due to the deleting of the HMV catalogue in September 1958.

| | Why does this record have 14 tracks? The original US release has only 10, and both came out within a month of one another. |

| | There is no evidence that a stereo version of this album was released in the UK in 1959 so the rear sleeve 1148101 was probably a mis-print and later rectified. |

| | Uploaded the first issue rear cover which states: "Stereo Orthophonic" to the left of the RCA logo. Later copies had this replaced with: "New Orthophonic"
Also uploaded the small orange 1969 re-issue labels. |

| | The black label/ rca logo was in use on Elvis LP's between 1957 and late 1962. From Late 1962 to Late 1963 the black label / Rca Victor logo was in use. Then from 1964 to 1968 the black label / Rca Victor Red Dot logo was used. |

| | its confusing but I think this album is possibly first with a "silver spot", then "red spot" [still 1960's] then reissued with a "silver spot label, in 1964.? |

| | The date ringed on the back cover was the original intended date for Elvis to leave the U.S. Army, although he actually left the service at the beginning of the month. |

| | No. He was already out. According to Google, he was recording with Frank Sinatra that day - maybe that's the "date with" of the album's title. |

| | What's the significance of March 24 1960? Was that the day Elvis got out of the Army? |
