biffbampow 9th Jun 2015		TV The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air (1990 - 1996)	Hated this. Found it grossly unfunny and downright offensive. I lived in a shared house for a while when this was being repeated and had to watch it with my housemates who all howled at it, I'd sit there straight faced wishing I was anywhere else and I was HATED for it. They made my life hell because I didn't find anything funny about this show, hence I have very bad memories of it.
biffbampow 9th Jun 2015		TV Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969 - 1974)	Horribly dated. Grows less funny with each passing year. Of course it has it's moments but I find a good 70% of it a crushing bore now.
biffbampow 8th Jun 2015		TV The Last Resort [UK] (1987 - 1988)	I know I saw some of these at the time, but have virtually no memory other than even then I wondered who on Earth thought giving Woss a job on TV was a "good idea" - nope... am struggling to think of any standout moments!

biffbampow 8th Jun 2015		TV The Darling Buds Of May (1991 - 1993)	The purest definition of the word "bland" on TV. Utter cosy drivel that I absolutely loathed. Is it also sacrilege to state that I think David Jason is hugely OVER-RATED? I like him as Inspector Frost and odd comedy parts (NOT Del Boy - can't stand Only Fools and Horses and didn't like Open All Hours either) he did were fine, but generally the guy leaves me cold. He's like the male Judi Dench and Helen Mirren in that we are NOT worthy for everything he does gets hyped and showered with awards as if he's the greatest talent on the planet. He isn't. Dench always leaves me brutally cold and whilst I like Helen Mirren, again, the hype and endless awards is just a bad joke. I know... time for my meds again...

biffbampow 7th Jun 2015		TV Hart To Hart (1979 - 1984)	Ah nice to know I'm not alone in admiration for Robert Wagner. If somebody asked me to describe the word "slime" I'd point to either Rupert Murdoch or Robert Wagner.
biffbampow 6th Jun 2015		TV Not The Nine O'Clock News (1979 - 1982)	I detest Griff "Me Me Me" Rhys Jones. Seems we've ended up stuck with him bagging travel documentaries. Soon as I see his name in any title then it's a show added to my blacklist since he just never shuts up about himself and is as funny as having my eyes gouged out with a rusty pencil.
biffbampow 5th Jun 2015		TV To The Manor Born (1979 - 1981)	I really really hated this. It was bad enough suffering "The Good Life" but my Mum found Penelope Keith "amusing" so ended up having to suffer this as well. Even as a kid, I failed to find snobbery at all amusing. It must be about 30 years since I last saw this and I know I can live the next 30 years without seeing it again.
biffbampow 5th Jun 2015		TV Sorry! (1981 - 1988)	This was about as funny as a raging toothache and every bit as worthy as "Terry and June" - just utterly pathetic. I know Ronnie Corbett is now looked upon as comedy royalty but back in the 80's most of us just saw him as the irritating half of "The Two Ronnies" and playing a pathetic role like this made the hatred for Corbett even worse. Again, I'm utterly amazed this lasted as long as it did. I keep seeing second hand copies of the DVD's at giveaway prices but I know this is a show I could never revisit - sitting through much of it back in the day was torturous enough.
biffbampow 5th Jun 2015		TV Crossroads (1964 - 2003)	This truly was a load of rubbish! Last year I actually watched a whole bunch of episodes from over it's original lifespan thinking maybe it would be amusing after the passing of time, but I derived very little amusement nor enjoyment from it. It was awful back in the day, it remains awful now. HOWEVER it's one saving grace - THAT theme tune. One of Tony Hatch's greatest moments!
biffbampow 4th Jun 2015		TV Blockbusters (1983 - 2012)	I saw the first 2 or 3 years of this and remember enjoying it at the time. I didn't see it for another few years then happened to see it at my grandparents at some point in the early 90's and at the end, these moron students rushed the stage doing their stupid "dance" to this and I'll never forget it because I actually muttered out aloud - in front of my beloved grandparents both in their mid 70's by then - "What the F*** is THIS bullsht?" Cue a polite apology for my profanity... a few moments later the awkward silence was broken by my grandfather who then uttered "Well... it is a load of bloody bullsht isn't it? Bloody idiots acting like prats on TV like that..." Sigh... how I miss him!
biffbampow 28th May 2015		TV Fawlty Towers (1975 - 1979)	wuoold it be sacriligous of me to say certain episodes haven't dated too well? Nope! I feel the same way about almost all of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" - a classic sure, but it looks and feels more dated by each passing year.
biffbampow 28th May 2015		TV Never Mind The Buzzcocks (1996 - 2014)	Was long overdue the axe in my books... unfortunately so is a good 95% of current BBC TV output which basically is the televisual version of SPAM as we await the 30th series of Casualty, but hey, we can always enjoy the 47th episode in the 16th series of Eggheads tonight... bear in mind that each series lasts for about 130 editions...

biffbampow 27th May 2015		Vinyl Album Renaissance - A Song For All Seasons	I'm begining to realize that the records that have given me the most pleasure are often the cheapest, and least valuable (right now that is!... give it time though, that could change.), wheras the rarer records are often disappointing (rare for a reason it seems). I think that goes for me too come to think of it as rarer records generally end up falling short for some reason or other and don't get played as much. I haven't heard this album and only really familiar with the Keith Relf era of the band but by goodness, "Northern Lights" is a true classic single. Wonderful song.

He really was a nasty piece of work, but that's another story for another site! Mind you what he got away with was NOTHING compared to Telly Savalas bagging a number one with "If"...then again, we did send "Cinderella Rockefeller" to number one as well... oof!

biffbampow 26th May 2015		TV Kojak (1973 - 1990)	I got a Kojak-set for a birthday present when I was a kid. Blimey... you just reminded me of a long forgotten Christmas present! Yeah... them handcuffs were pretty useless... they never worked on my 2 year old brother much to my annoyance since if anyone deserved handcuffing, it was him!

They were still showing this in the late 70's and early 80's which was when I saw it and even then beardy weirdies were well out of fashion! One also can't help but wonder if Rick Jones was stoned doing these since it's now known he would get stoned to do "Play School" with Lionel Morton!
biffbampow 25th May 2015		DVD Cream : Their Fully Authorised Story - Classic Artists	A very enjoyable documentary and easily the best on the band as it goes quite in-depth, allowing it to take it's time. As always with Cream documentaries, Ginger Baker provides the highlights with some rather colourful and profanity laden remarks and rants! Some good bonus material too, some rare footage of the band back in the day and various unused interviews, the funniest of which is Paul Jones recalling an amusing incident involving Jack Bruce in his days with Manfred Mann which always makes me smile!
biffbampow 25th May 2015		TV Gamesmaster (1992 - Now)	As for Gamesmaster, hugely popular in it's time. I'd gotten out of gaming by then so only saw bits and bobs of it and thought it strange to see the late great Sir Patrick Moore in it. He admitted in his autobiography he found it strange and amusing since he admitted he didn't have a clue about anything he said since he never played computer games in his life yet was astonished to start getting fan mail from young viewers who really did believe he was THE Gamesmaster!
biffbampow 25th May 2015		TV Gamesmaster (1992 - Now)	Do we need a general "Entertainment" category? I think we do. I had this problem when I added "The Golden Shot" - it was part game show, part music and part variety - generally what I'd regard as "Variety" or "Entertainment" - similar situation with the Paul Daniels Show... so I'd welcome the addition of such a category since there were tons such shows especially in the 60's and 70's.
biffbampow 25th May 2015		TV Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987 - 1994)	@23skidoo - you've probably just helped explain why I gave up on this series... I saw a handful of episodes from the first two seasons, they bored me rigid and I never looked at it again. Surprisingly, my Mum actually got into it and continues to sing it's praises.
biffbampow 25th May 2015		TV The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007 - 2011)	I honestly couldn't fully understand why they aimed this at kids and broadcasting it in the kids TV spot since like you say, it was really no different in style to it's parent show and maybe lost a few viewers as a result - broadcast in a later spot, I'm sure it would had been just as successful and gotten more viewers. Hence why it's been dismissed by some. Sadly, I couldn't get into it for the same reasons as 21st Century DW, but it was lovely to see Lis looking radiant and reviving this much loved character, winning a whole new generation of fans and admirers. Her death was a cruel shock, way too young. The idea of Tom Baker playing a new character sounds amusing and a shame that never got to happen. Knowing how well Sladen and Baker got along I'm sure the results would had been fun.

(1982)	Pure brilliance right down from the special guest stars to the final "freeze frame" for me, the best comedy series ever to come out of the States along with "Soap" I revisit this every couple of years and there's always something in there I'd not quite noticed before.
biffbampow 24th May 2015		Cinema A Hard Day's Night (1964)	Funny, I was just thinking earlier today of the "Help!" movie - sure that's always "not as good" as this one for most but it had some wonderful ideas like the daft captions, intermission bit and irreverent humour that for 1965 was not at all shabby and a cut above many better regarded films. One thing for certain, they sure turned in impressive songs for the soundtracks!
biffbampow 24th May 2015		TV Rentaghost (1976 - 1984)	Matter of taste I suppose but there is a solidity about the first four series and an ongoing drama since Fred Mumford's parents don't actually know he's dead. Being new to being a ghost, he's clumsy so that gave it an endearing quality setting up many a farcical situation. Anthony Jackson. the guy playing Mumford decided to leave the show and the other actor, Michael Darbyshire an elderly guy died so Bob Block had to write out two main characters in one fell swoop and what he replaced it with was just pure infantile drivel. The first series was amusing since Hubert Davenport had died as an old man but his Mum had died rather young hence his young Mum would often appear scolding him causing him much embarrassment. They got rid of that gag after then and they would have occasional guest ghosts popping in notably Calamity Kate, a female cowboy. I guess there's lots of shows peppered throughout TV history that ended up outstaying their welcome and going on far too long hence later series tend to be a pale shadow of what came before. I can't really speak for "Most Haunted" but it does seem a formula that would be sustainable for a few series which unfortunately they then ramped up to Scooby Doo levels to try and keep it going.
