Buck Owens And His Buckaroos - I've Got A Tiger By The Tail
Man never got the respect he deserved, especially after he went to "Hee Haw", same goes for Roy Clark.

Buck Owens And His Buckaroos - I've Got A Tiger By The Tail
Probably his best studio album.

Vinyl Album
The Beach Boys - Smiley Smile
I didn't get "good vibrations" until Capitol finally got around to releasing the original "SMiLE" material a few years ago...

Charlie Feathers - Jungle Fever
Even though it's a boot, it's a great album, especially Side 1. All in chronological order too. I picked my copy up at the World Of Music in Nuremberg when I was stationed overseas. Had no idea it was a boot until years later. They hated me when I cranked up "Bottle To The Baby" in the barracks...

Ritchie Valens - In Concert At Pacoima Jr. High
It has polystyrene in it, similar to Columbia 45's. A lot of budget labels used a mixture of it because it was cheaper than 100% vinyl. Some early black label Decca LP's are like that too. Less flexible & more brittle than vinyl.

Julie London - Around Midnight
I used to buy her LP's just for the cover art..."Schwiiinggg!!"

Vinyl Album
The Searchers - Meet The Searchers / Needles And Pins
Between this LP & The Beatles' "Please Please Me" LP, I think we have the best examples of what the "Mersey Sound" was like, without actually being there. This LP has some real gems on it. A mono entry needs to be made for this LP...

Elvis Presley - For LP Fans Only
On this German pressing, "Mystery Train" does not fade out. It keeps going until the band comes to a full stop. Never heard a version that long except on this pressing (don't know about it's mono counterpart). I would've kept it for that reason alone but for the fact that I hated that fake stereo with a passion. RCA's brand of it was just about the worst. A shame, especially when you consider that RCA made some true stereo audiophile gems like "Elvis Is Back!" Or the 1959 re-recording of "Victory At Sea".

The Beatles - Revolver
"I Want To Tell You" mis-titled as "I Want To Love You", but only on the record label itself. There's also an '80's-era German pressing of this with the same mistake.

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin [IV]
I had the Led Zeppelin songbook years ago that had all of the sheet music to their first 5 albums in it. Pictures of the front covers of all 5 were in it, & the album after this one was actually referred to as "Led Zeppelin V"!!!

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin [IV]
Seems to me that the 4 symbols could represent the "IV" in "Led Zeppelin IV".

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin [IV]
Back when this was a current LP, I bought only 45's, but I heard "Stairway To Heaven" on WLS & initially played hell trying to find out which LP it was on. Didn't know at first that it was on this LP because it had no markings whatsoever. Finally, Atlantic Records starting putting a sticker on the shrink-wrap stating, "This album contains 'Stairway To Heaven'"...

You bring up a very interesting point.

Paul Simon - The Paul Simon Song Book
I'd have to agree with you...

Vinyl Album
Johnny Cash - I Walk The Line
One of Cash's more disappointing '60s-era LP's. Out of the 12 tracks on this album, 8 of them are inferior re-makes of earlier Sun/Columbia material. This is during the time-frame where the pills were becoming a major problem for him...

Johnny Cash - With His Hot And Blue Guitar
Original Sun releases stayed in print until 1968, when Sam Phillips sold the label to Shelby Singleton. After that, all Sun releases were completely re-configured, new LP's, catalog numbers, artwork, etc.

Paul Simon - The Paul Simon Song Book
Not counting "I Am A Rock" and "The Sound Of Silence" (although these versions
ARE interesting), I actually prefer these solo recordings over the later Simon & Garfunkel versions. From what I've read, Paul himself didn't seem to care for this album.

I'll have to double check, but if I remember correctly, only the instrumentals are electrically reprocessed stereo...

For people over a certain age, who DIDN'T have this record?
