DeweyGill SUBS 20th Apr 2023 | | 78 RPMClaude Kirchner - Cinderella Part 1 / Cinderella Part 2 | W.B.lbl- this is indeed a 3” label. However, I forgot to change the automatic disc size prompt to 7”
This is a die cut cover, I doubt many of these survived without some bending of the die cut images that protrude 1” over the 71/4” main cover.

DeweyGill SUBS 20th Apr 2023 | | 78 RPMKenny Martin - Ave Maria / Over The River And Through The Woods | Probably issued around the Christmas season.
Label rippling most likely caused by the moisture in the dairy case.
Certainly not the R&B singer Kenny Martin who recorded for Federal. There was another country artist on the Tennessee label that would be a more likely candidate, although this is a common name.
Note the instruction “punch” at the center hole visible on side two.

I’m fascinated with period price stickers, this one is from 1812 Overture, a Milwaukee based local chain which sold Lp’s at a reasonable price along with head shop accessories- pipes, papers, incense, posters, underground comics etc. Your typical early ‘70’s hippie hangout. Spent lots of time and money there

|
DeweyGill SUBS 28th Nov 2022 | | 78 RPMRed Nichols Trio - Cheerful Little Earfull [Sic] / Smoke Gets In Your Eyes | John Steiner would purchase Hugh Davis’ interest in SD records shortly after these recordings. The address listed here was Gardner’s apartment, as he was available and his piano was there.
The issued take of “Cheerful” was coupled with 63044-4B- “I’ve Got A Woman (She’s Funny That Way”) on SD 507.
Steiner was using Bishop to press discs in this period because of his dissatisfaction of other pressing plants quality due to war shortages of good schellac
