henry29 23rd Jul 2015 | | DVDThe Rutles In All You Need Is Cash - Cinema Club | @cptbeefheart. AFAIK this is the first UK DVD release.
This can't be the First as It has the Date as 2002 and DVD's started In 1995. I Have this In a Jewel Case Bought at the time £39.99. I am sure there were other DVD's as well. I bought the South Park ones on the same day. Volumes 1 to 3 and I still have them and loads more In Jewel cases. They were to Heavy so they Opted for the Plastic ones we have today. Best thing about them DVD was new so Editing didn't really take effect till later. And a lot just had the film and nothing else. So the Quality was better to. The First DVD's were for the Porn Industry as they developed the format which Enabled Phillips to go ahead with production. I remember a Very late night Interview with a Porn Director. And He was showing and talking about a New Invention that would Revolutionize the Industry. Then He picked up a disc and said this Is It. The Interviewer asked how does It work and what difference It would Make. The Director then loaded the disc Into the player and said, Up Till now all we could shoot was a front view but Now we can shoot Multiple angles which the viewer can now choose how He/ She watches the Film. It had a Camera looking down his body and a girl on Her knees Still trousers on TV You know. He said now I can view from the side. Or the top, or from the back of the girl. So In affect Porn DVD's were the First but won't be recognized as so. H.
