Bobby Vinton - Bobby Vinton Sings The Big Ones
"I Love You the Way You are" was a demo recording by Vinton that was issued Diamond Records to cash in on the success of his first Epic hit. The version on this Lp was re recorded for Epic and is not the hit version, which was never issued on Lp.

Charlie Rich - There Won't Be Anymore
Most of the songs are rechanneled, and done so poorly. On A3, you can hear the tape slow down twice in the song, both times pretty badly too. The cover also has the songs in a different order than the LP does.

Jan And Dean - Jan & Dean's Golden Hits Volume 2
Review
Jan and Dean's second compilation album. If you were to only own one Jan and Dean album, this is the one you should get. It contains all of the songs that one usually associated with the duo. In addition to their usual hot rod and surfing tunes, the album also includes their newest single to date, "You Really Know How to Hurt a Guy", a song that Dean hated and isn't even featured on. As the story goes, Dean walked out of the recording studio and joined The Beach Boys on their recording session of "Barbara Ann".
Jan and Dean's Golden Hits Vol. 2 is a great album, well worth seeking if you love the surfing and/or hot rod music of the early to mid 60s.

Steve Alaimo - Where The Action Is
Review
This album is comprised of covers of mostly early rock n roll or R&B covers, but Steve Alaimo, in my opinion, gives the originals a serious run for their money. The album opens with a very short cover of Freddy Cannon's "Action" (appropriate, considering he was a regular on that television show). Also included is a cover of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind", which is a decent cover and was a minor chart hit for Alaimo (on Cashbox, it missed Billboard completely). Overall, while the album is not entirely memorable, its still pretty good and worth a listen.

Roger Williams - Born Free
Review
This album is one of my all time favorites out of any genre! There are very few albums that flow as well as this one does. Apparently a lot of other people also did, considering it was on the LP charts for an incredible 69 weeks! A very relaxing listen and worth every penny!

Ronnie Dove - Ronnie Dove
Review
After his brief stint with Certron Records, Ronnie ended up on Decca Records under the wing of Owen Bradley. The partnership resulted in two minor country hits and an album, the self titled "Ronnie Dove", issued after Decca became MCA. The album contains a smooth blend of soft country with lush string backgrounds mixed within Ronnie's million selling voice. It's a shame that this album didn't become a hit, because its great. It features a few covers of others hits and Ronnie handles them very well. Fans of Ronnie's and fans of a softer country sound should seek out this album.

Ronnie Dove - Greatest All-Time Hits
Review
Ronnie Dove ended up being sold to Certron Records, a new label from Nashville operated by Aubrey Mayhew, the former owner of Little Darlin Records. Despite the fact that Ronnie recorded enough material for the label to fill up several LPs, this is the only one to get released, and it's a compilation of his Diamond singles to boot. Actually, despite being billed as a "hits" album, only 5 of the 12 tracks were issued as singles. Something of note however is the inclusion of the song "No One Ever Lost More", the only new track on the album, despite not being advertised as such. Just about every copy of this album has distortion on most of the tracks. A Capitol Record club pressing exists without distortion, but this album is very scarce, so the Certron pressings are what you are more likely to run across. If you're looking for a good compilation of his material, look elsewhere. If you're a collector of Ronnie's records (like myself), then the album is still worth owning, even if only for the unreleased track.

Ronnie Dove - The Best Of Ronnie Dove, Volume 2
Review
Ronnie's seventh and final album for Diamond Records (also the last LP put out by the label) and Ronnie's second compilation album. The album features four original songs in addition to the hits. Something of note is the song "Back from Baltimore", originally issued as the B-side of Ronnie's minor chart hit "Dancing Out of My Heart", is included while the A-side is omitted. "Baltimore" is a fine Neil Diamond produced and written song, written for Ronnie after his producer Phil Kahl refused to let him record "Red Red Wine". Another Diamond track ("My Babe") is also included. The closing track is enough to bring tears to your eyes as well. Ronnie's talent as a singer is evident in this album, as it is in all his others as well. Worth picking up!

Ronnie Dove - Cry
Review
Ronnie Dove's sixth album for Diamond Records is by far his most different in my opinion. The album culls mostly from the American songbook. Indeed, several of the songs on the album (including the title track) were originally recorded by Johnnie Ray. That having been said, in my opinion, he blows away Johnnies versions. The album contains two of Ronnie's chart hits, "One More Mountain to Climb", and the title track, which earned Ronnie an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1967. Also included is a beautiful song called "Autumn Rhapsody", which was used as the B-side of "Cry". Overall, a very solid listen and very enjoyable album worth purchasing!

Ronnie Dove - Ronnie Dove Sings The Hits For You
Review
Ronnie's fifth LP for Diamond Records, and my personal favorite! This album contains his hits "I Really Don't Want to Know", "Let's Start All Over Again", "Happy Summer Days", and "Mountain of Love" (which wasn't issued as a single until 1968). The album also features Ronnie's excellent renditions of standards like "A Slow Boat to China" and "Someday (You'll Want Me To Want You", and excellent original tunes as well. My only complaint is that side one is much longer in length than side two. The songs themselves though, are incredible, Ronnie really outdid himself on this album! A must for fans of 60s vocalists and standards!

Ronnie Dove - The Best Of Ronnie Dove
Review
Ronnie Dove's first compilation album, released after only three albums. The LP contains his then current hit "When Liking Turns to Loving", a very romantic song and a Top 20 hit for Ronnie. The album pulls all his hits up to that point (8 of them) and 4 of his best LP cuts from the previous albums. This was Ronnie's best selling album, peaking at #36 on the Top 200, and according to Ronnie, was awarded a gold record.

Ronnie Dove - I'll Make All Your Dreams Come True
Review
Ronnie Dove's third album release for Diamond Records. Unlike his first two albums, this album contains mostly original compositions, including one from a little known singer songwriter named Neil Diamond. Also contained are Ronnie's next two singles, the title track and "Kiss Away", one of my favorites of Ronnie's. All the other tracks on the album hang together quite well, one of my favorites being "How I Wish The Nights were Longer". A solid album all around and a must for fans of mellow vocalists and 60s pop.

Ronnie Dove - One Kiss For Old Times' Sake
Review
Ronnie Dove's second album release, it features his next two Top 20 classics "A Little Bit of Heaven", as well as the title track. This album, like his first, dips in to the American songbook with songs like "All of Me" and "Nevertheless". A great followup album for Ronnie Dove that somehow only peaked at #119 on Billboards Top 200 Album chart.

Ronnie Dove - Right Or Wrong
Review
A great solo debut album for Ronnie Dove! It contains his hits "Right or Wrong", "Say You", and "Hello Pretty Girl". It is also worth noting that both sides of his first Diamond single are also contained on the album, "Sweeter than Sugar" b/w "I Beleived in You". The mono and stereo versions differ slightly. All in all, an excellent debut album from Ronnie Dove!

Ronnie Dove - A Little Bit Of Heaven
Interesting how they got the songwriter credits so messed up. For example, Back From Baltimore was written by Neil Diamond, The Wedding Song is not by Leiber and Stoller, etc. and how the back cover touts that Wheel of Fortune was a big hit, when it wasn't even issued as a single.
