Jasper 15th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumCat Stevens - Tea For The Tillerman | Added labels and back cover of my original issue album (front same as image 1219179). Hopefully it will all make sense once the cat # is amended and images shuffled into place.

Jasper 13th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumSimon And Garfunkel - Simon And Garfunkel | These are part of the Music For Pleasure Gold Edge series (starting in 1970) - 0001 - Johnny Cash 1970, 0002 - Diana Ross and The Supremes Plus. It is going to be difficult to pin down a release date of this (I believe that this is a re-issue, the original was gate fold) as although the labels are CBS the cat# is Music For Pleasure so will not show up in lists of CBS releases. A little more information can be found here.

Jasper 13th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumEagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 | Hi Lee, can't locate my copy at the moment - mine is an Australian Record Club copy - the details I have are in exercise books that I have kept but back in those days probably didn't pay much attention to dashes and spaces in the cat #. Came to me at the same time as The Best Of Uriah Heep, Harry Chapin Portrait Gallery and The Best Of Gladys Knight And The Pips which is probably of little interest to anyone else but me.
Jasper 13th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumEagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 | I can tell you that I purchased my copy 26th August 1976 - Asylum 7E 1052. Will upload when I get a chance.
Jasper 13th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumShirley Bassey With Wally Stott And His Orchestra And Chorus - Bassey Spectacular | I was wondering what differences there are on Australian Record Club releases (I have a lot) - the earliest Philips one I bought was A Girl Called Dusty.
Jasper 11th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Let's Be Friends | Hi PhilMH - I noticed that you have referred to this type of date code before on Cat 45 e.g. kiss me quick
I hope that I've added the webpage link properly - never tried before.
Jasper 11th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Let's Be Friends | The year of release for this should be 1970 note © 1970 on bottom of back cover also I believe that the A670 mentioned in the notes is a date reference.
Jasper 10th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Let's Be Friends | Added images - front/back cover and label images from original release. I hate when this happens i.e. I was just going to post a better front cover image (no laminate folds) then I noticed no laminate folds because my original issue was not laminated, then noted difference in the labels - not bold font and curved printing on the bottom of the label, then back cover no affiliation with Summit Records. Sorry Whassup looks like I'm going to come over the top of you again with an original issue.

Jasper 10th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis | Added images from the AARM gold label re-issue that I purchased 14th April 1973.
Jasper 8th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumCilla Black - Sher-oo! | A couple of other interesting little things 7/6/1979 I bought 2 RCA albums through WRC - Perry Como - And I Love You So - APL1 -0100 and Al Stewart Time Passages VPL1 7188. I was surprised that they were selling RCA at the time. The last album I got from WRC was 13/7/1979.
Jasper 8th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumCilla Black - Sher-oo! | Hi PhilMH - looks like I should refer to my books before making comment, actually I kept purchase dates as of May 1972 - the first EMI releases I received via World Record Club were on 13/12/1972 - Deep Purple (Harvest SHVL 759), Grand Funk - Survival (Capitol SW764) and Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord (Deram SMLA 711). I will post when I get a chance and see if there is any difference between these and the normal retail releases.

Jasper 7th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumCilla Black - Sher-oo! | Hi PhilMH - I need to investigate further I was a member of WRC from about 1967 to whenever it folded (still have quite a few of their old catalogues). I have a couple of hundred releases on the WRC label and also bought the EMI albums later in the piece but thought that this was much later than 1974. According to several entries in Discogs 1974/5 was when they changed from the "strobe" design label to the "herald" design, single address on the back cover and R-0 cat # on the label. I picked up this copy in recent times so I don't have a purchase date although I was meticulous in recording purchase date and other details for every album I bought between 1974 and 1988. By the cat # on this you may be correct that the original issue of this was 1972.
Jasper 7th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumCilla Black - Sher-oo! | Added images - WRC unique cover design - probably available in a variety of colours and may be earlier release variation (strobe design label), not sure so listed as 1975 release.

Jasper 6th Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Goofy Greats | For Australia K-Tel (cat# NA 464) decided to go for 20.
Jasper 2nd Dec 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - You'll Never Walk Alone | Added composer credits and images from my copy purchased 29/12/1977. Acknowledging Wax_Museum for the original entry.
Jasper 1st Dec 2016 | | Live MusicAlice Cooper @ RAS Of NSW | Just looking up my scrapbooks to get a bit of info about the Welcome To my Nightmare album and pleasantly surprised to come across this. Event held at the old Sydney Showground in Moore Park.
Jasper 29th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis | Uploaded images of my copy purchased 5th March 1981 - if my theory is correct this is a re-issue and the original release will have orange labels.
Jasper 28th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Now | Added original 1972 release images.
Jasper 27th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Christmas Album | Also released in Australia in 1970 under cat # CAL 2428 - RCA Camden (Special Series) Mono.
Jasper 27th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Moody Blue | Added original issue inner (same both sides) and labels - never noticed the poor printing on the labels. Correction requested.
Jasper 26th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records Volume 3 | So washed-out orange rather than over-saturated tan. I just had a look at a couple of Elvis labels from original release 1971 and 1972 and they have the same layout, font etc. so your original thought of 1971 may well be correct. I don't know how to be more precise maybe there's an RCA Australia expert out there somewhere.
Jasper 26th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records Volume 3 | Thanks PhilMH - the colour of this label also looks a bit different i.e more heavily saturated but I put that down to the scanning. Do you agree that the main entry date of this should be 1963?
Jasper 26th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records Volume 3 | Hi Whassup I am still trying to determine when RCA Australia/N.Z started using the tan labels. I have a quite large Elvis collection and at that time (1974 to 1988) kept a detailed account of date/place of purchase and price paid (always new, I never bought any second-hand) - I guess I had a lot more spare time back then. I have entered the Sun Sessions album that I bought 5th June '76 which still had orange labels and Elvis (sometimes called the Fool album) I bought on 3rd December '77 had the tan labels so I'm guessing they switched in '76 or '77 but it may not be as cut and dried as that. Anyway the main date for this entry should actually be 1963 as this is when the cat# LSP 2765 (mono LPM 2765) was first released this allows anyone with an original copy to enter their images on this same page. The issue date of the subsequent release can be added to comments and/or in the item description when uploading images. This also may be a dual citizen as on the record label it mentions manufactured by RCA Sydney and Auckland - but that's another story. Sorry for the long winded comment - I hope it's in some way helpful.
Jasper 25th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Moody Blue | Hi Lee - the original release has slightly different labels (still tan colour) and a printed paper inner sleeve with images of other Elvis albums. I must of been one of the few who bought a copy while he was still alive. I was going to wait until I had a chance to scan/enter everything before requesting a correction. Thanks for noticing.
Jasper 24th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Moody Blue | Added original release front cover image.
Jasper 24th Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Moody Blue | Hi Whassup this is a re-issue after Way Down became a hit hence the "contains the hits..." on the front cover (back cover is identical) - could even still be a 1977 release just later in the year.
Jasper 22nd Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Something For Everybody | Thanks PhilMH the label does look strange with the logos blacked out. Hopefully someone can add the original 1961 issue also personally I would have entered this as Elvis Presley - not Elvis Presley and The Jordanaires.
Jasper 22nd Nov 2016 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Something For Everybody | Added images from my copy purchased new 18th Jan. 1977 - so most probably a 1976 re-issue. The front and back cover are identical to Gregs78s images.I already scanned the front cover before I realised it was the same and added it anyway as I think it looks a bit better. Gregs78s your labels do look unusual may be a case for entering it as a U.K. release (made in U.S.A) depending on how official it was. I would be interested in MemphisMartin's take on it.
