Little Pattie - Pattie
Her earliest works(Stompy-Wompy Real-Gone Surfer Boy) were cringe-worthy rubbish but by the time these tracks came along, "Little" Pattie Amphlett, still in her mid-teens, was starting to get some worthwhile material to record. The only thing that spoils this is those doggone "fugly"(that's Effin' Ugly) publishing company "stamp" logos on the labels.

I distinctly remember the Martin Milner version(Milner formerly of "CHiPS) and Cameron Mitchell in the show as well(formerly of "High Chapporal" - guessing at spelling). And I remember the show airing on NBN in Newcastle, a year or so after its US run.

RC, did you notice that it was a 2LP set with only 3 or 4 tracks per side? They obviously used the full-length versions of songs that equally obviously ran for 6 or more minutes

That's what Summit did sometimes. They'd get hold of old stampers after the original LP release had been deleted from the catalogues of the label(company) which first issued the album, put their own label to them and re-issue under a new title. Sometimes Summit would get an A-side stamper for one album, and a B-side stamper from another LP by the same artist or group, stick 'em together and... hey presto, a whole new(?) album emerges!

It's more likely that Common Wealth is the Dutch licensee for K-Tel rather than owning the American-based, and American-owned company that is K-Tel.

The Australian licence for the Crewe label was held by Festival Records. The title cut was, however, issued as a single on the CBS label by Australian Record Company(as they still were in 1969).

Interestingly enough, this production made it onto Australian TV station schedules where the other version was not seen here at all(to my best knowledge). Had to adjust my comments after checking the origin of the series. Initially I took this to be the Canadian version. Oops!

Okay RC, I'll give you a closer translation:
"Es war doch schwere Nacht dieses Tags, und arbeitet Ich sowie ein Hund!"
For those who don't speak Deutsch, the English translation is:
"It's been a Hard Day's Night and I've been working like a dog!"

Hey Fixbutte, how close was I in that translation?

Ah, hier haben wir die echte Sache! Or, in English.... Ah, here we have The Real Thing(RC, please refrain from singing Ooo-mow-mow-mow! ha-ha). I really liked the "Recording First Published..." bit on the British records, really nice touch. The encircled 'P' doesn't really "click" with me.

Add to what RC said, there's also the fact that this is a United Artists issue rather than a Capitol issue, thus puts it outside the "proper" Beatles US catalogue.

Deltics, you're correct! The label design here first appeared around 1971 in the US and Canada(later in other markets) so this is definitely a re-issue.

In the "Linked Releases", the Canadian label shown, is definitely NOT of 1964 vintage. It's clearly an early-1970s re-issue. A Canadian first-issue would have a label design similar to that shown above, as uploaded by nicoldo64.

@23skidoo, I wish they'd bring back the "Hollie"(Holly) character, either Hattie or Norman in the role, between them they helped "make" the show! The "Hollie(or Holly, for alternate spelling) character just disappeared in latter series. shame, that!

A comment by RC just vanished... where did it go? As for Greg's78s, we're not making fun of people drowning, persay, we're just sending up the movie title. Far be it from me or anyone to poke fun at tragedy.

@23skidoo, it's fairly safe to say they'll get the main four back(Chris Barrie[Rimmer], Craig Charles[Lister], Danny John-Jules[Cat] and Robert Llewellyn[Kryten]) but Hattie Haybridge and Norman Lovett seemed to go AWOL toward the end of the last regular series(that is, before the 3-episode Back To Earth and other "specials" were made)., So I don't expect to see Haybridge or Lovett as "Holly" in the new versions.

@23skidoo, yeah, he only had a couple of his records do moderately well here in Australia, they were by no stretch of the imagination, "chart-toppers", either. Most Aussies wouldn't even remember him unless they vaguely do so from this TV show, and I doubt many would even remember the show either.
