Rex Shaw's 2UE Old-Time Dance Band - Sue, Sue, Sue
in chronological order by record number, this is the first Regal Zonophone 78 in my collection of this red and green design. I wonder if it were introduced at number 22000 .... ?

The London Novelty Orchestra - The Boston Two-Step / La Maxixe (Mattchiche)
This appears to be a re-release of a 1931 Regal original recording.

The London Novelty Orchestra - The Boston Two-Step / La Maxixe (Mattchiche)
Wikipedia says "Regal Zonophone Records was a British record label formed in 1932, through a merger of the Regal and Zonophone labels. "

How then can this be 1931, and why is Regal Zonophone listed here as beginning in 1914 ?
Can someone please enlighten me.

Anne Shelton - Lay Down Your Arms / Daydreams
**Camshaft**

Re: enlarged hole

It was common for the centre hole to be fractionally too small. This usually resulted in the user forcing the 78 onto the centre spindle, either breaking out the centre hole, or weakening it so it crumbled out over time.

Shellac 78s are fairly weighty, and usually stay put once you centre them (if using a modern record player or changer - on a gramophone tracking at 200 grams you're outta luck :-)

Winifred Atwell - Let's Have A Party / Let's Have A Party
Nobody really knows who actually wrote Knees Up Mother Brown.
It was sung during the Armistice of the first world war, dating it to 1918 or beyond.
It was claimed in '38 by Lee, Weston & Taylor, but its origins are much older.

Doris Day - The Black Hills Of Dakota / 'Tis Harry I'm Plannin' To Marry
'Tis Harry' was not sung in the movie by Doris Day.
It was a number by Gale Robbins, in the part of Adelaid Adams.

Guy Mitchell - (Otto Drives Me Crazy) Otto's Gotta Go / Too Late
A great record for fans of Crazy Otto (Fritz Schulz-Reichel)
A parody of Crazy Otto and his piano driving everyone mad ♥♫

Doris Day - Two Hearts, Two Kisses (Make One Love) / Foolishly Yours
One of those records that Mitch Miller foisted on everyone, and made them sing it.
Even Sinatra had to sing this one. Closest he ever got to rock'n'roll.
Even stranger, since Mitch Miller was known for his hatred of rock'n'roll.

As soon as i find the record amongst the thousands here, i will provide better ones.

Frank Rayston - Lambeth Walk (After Chopin And Liszt) / Lambeth Walk (After Verdi, Beethoven And Mozart)
Yes, this is a composite label .... its all i have, until i find the record amongst the thousands here, then i can provide images of two sides. This one will suffice for now ♥♫

Jane Powell - Too Late Now / How Could You Believe Me When I Said I Loved You, When You Know I've Been A Liar All My Life
This once held the record for the longest song title.
It was eclipsed by the Stars On 45 Beatles Medley, officially.
In my opinion (but obviously not the officials) the 'Stars' single was a list of Beatles songs, not a real song title.

Annikki Tähti - Itke Sydämeni (Cry My Heart) / Vanha Riimu (There's A Bridle Hangin' On The Wall)
GRRR one of my pet hates is when radio announcers call this man 'Robinson' !!!
It is no help at all when the record label mis-spells it as well.

Lena Horne - Sometimes I'm Happy / Something To Live For
I hate it when information becomes blurred.
This track is arguably long before 1955, probably around 1949.
The simple matter is, the label clearly mentions 'Hit The Deck', which is a 1955 MGM film.
If this were a 1949 record, they couldn't possibly mention a film that hadn't been made yet.

John Charles Thomas - Bluebird Of Happiness / The Last Time I Saw Paris
To the best of my knowledge, this is a post-1946 release of 'Paris', to coincide with the film 'Till The Clouds Roll By', but the original recordings were in the early war years, hot on the tail of the occupation of France by the Nazis.

Al Goodman - The Girl That I Marry / Who Do You Love I Hope
This is contemporary with the original Broadway show.
MGM deleted 'Moonshine Lullaby' from the 1950 film.
