He was ably backed by The Jordanaires, Charlie Hodge & Millie Kirkham and the band included Scotty Moore,Floyd Cramer and DJ Fontana.
A remarkable level of output which was quite common for Elvis at that time.

stoutfellow51 1st Aug 2016 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/elvis-presley-the-elvis-presley-sun-collection-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - The Elvis Presley Sun Collection | My version has the plain green RCA label without the Starcall annotation. The cover does however show Starcall on the front top right and RCA logo on the front bottom right. The back cover has the full Roy Carr sleeve notes and was printed by Robert Stace. Cat. HY1001 Price Code TT.
This album is also infamous by virtue of the re-mastering by RCA of the original Sun recordings resulting in a smothering of echo particularly to the vocals. This was not rectified until much later, most notably on the CD versions where the authentic "Sun" sound has been lovingly restored.

But after reading the notes here it is now all clear.

Subsequent pressings from about 1962 onward would have been on the RCA Victor label with either a small Red RCA spot or a white one. My copy is on RCA Victor with a Red Spot label but still only has RCA on the sleeve.

stoutfellow51 7th Jul 2016 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/elvis-presley-rca-victor-red-seal-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records | Thanks for that okun69. My copy does indeed have a Red Seal 9cm diameter label, but do you think that it is in it's correct sleeve i.e. mid 60's non-gatefold of the same type as depicted by 78rpm maniac. The sleeve carries the boxed black RCA Victor logo and Cat. no. RB 16069, no mention of Red Seal anywhere on the sleeve. Several UK RCA Victor Elvis albums of the 1968/69 era seem to have been manufactured with the older black style label as well as the new orange style. Elvis Gold Records Vol 4 being one example.
I have taken the liberty of listing my Red seal copy as a new entry on Discogs and I will take your advice about using 1969 as the release date.
Note to self- must get out more !

stoutfellow51 7th Jul 2016 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/elvis-presley-rca-victor-red-seal-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records | Need a bit help here please. Just purchased a copy that I can't place anywhere including trawling through Discogs. Comes in a single RCA Victor mid 1960's sleeve identical to image 452016 from 78 rpm maniac with the same tracks as listed. The label is red in colour RCA Red Seal RB 16069 H2WP 8399 but the label text formatting is in the early 1970's RCA modern style that was introduced about 1968. It is a mono record manufactured in the UK and has a p 1958 annotation. Appears to be an early1970's record in a mid 1960's sleeve but the Cat.No. for this particular album post 1970 is RCA Victor SF 8129 on the Orange label with a totally different cover pic taken from the late 60's with Elvis in black leather. I have found an identical pic to upload as I can't do a scan of mine, ref 1099746. Any ideas?

All of these recordings would have been made in Mono so any Stereo issues will be faked in a way that you eloquently describe.
I got a Mono early 1960's version of Elvis Gold Records Vol 2 just this week in preference to an Orange label "Electronically processed Stereo" 1970's issue that was available from the same dealer.
The first true Elvis Stereo recordings did not start until the Elvis is Back sessions in 1960 after he had left the US Army.

stoutfellow51 11th Jun 2016 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/elvis-presley-i-need-your-love-tonight-1959-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 2 | Just got a fairly decent copy in original glorious mono today for a fiver, mine is black UK RCA Victor RD27159 with a black/silver RCA Spot as opposed to the Red Spot (see illustration). As far as I know the RCA Victor label only came into use for the UK in 1963 but I stand to be corrected. Prior to that it was RCA.
The track listing on the front sleeve bears no resemblance to the track sequence of the record itself and as there is no track listing on the rear sleeve then basically you can't be sure what is coming next- that must be a first!

stoutfellow51 5th Jun 2016 | ![](//images.45worlds.com/t/ab/elvis-presley-mean-woman-blues-rca-2-ab-t.jpg) | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Loving You | A German 12 " album version containing 12 tracks has surfaced elsewhere on this site but seems to be available in Stereo only. The Cat No. is RCA Victor LSP1515 and this is the identical Cat. No. to the USA stereo release. The year of release is claimed to be 1957 but I have my doubts as to whether that is accurate.

Thankfully that artwork is preserved on the German RCA International version of this album which was released at the same time and is widely available.
