vidman45 18th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumBrian Hyland - The Legendary Years Of Rock And Roll | Neil, my guess on the year of release included the sticker on the back cover from Chandlers Better Record Bars. Might this have been in Sydney? My only trip down under to Oz was in late 1979.

vidman45 17th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumSounds Orchestral - Cast Your Fate To The Wind | Added missing scans. LP charted on Billboard Album Charts for 28 weeks, peaking at #11.
vidman45 16th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Kingston Trio - The Folk Era | Besides adding this 3-LP set, I also spent some time adding correct release (month/year) dates so that the albums in the Kingston Trio USA database would sort in proper release order. I also added four LP's that I do not own. I do not have scans for them. If you have any of these, please add them.

vidman45 14th Feb 2015 | | Music Memorabilia[none] - Peaches Records Plastic LP Bag | Overnight, I did some research on the net. Wikipedia never heard of them, but this site has a good article and comments about them:
http://www.themortonreport.com/entertainment/music/peaches-records-tapes-warm-memories-of-a-fallen-giant/
Peaches operated super music stores in nearly every major city in the United States from the mid 1970's and 80's. It seems that some locations lasted longer than others. Besides a huge selection of records and tapes, they carried related items such as T-shirts, record storage crates, sun glasses, etc. My local Peaches store was in suburban Kansas City. There are several home videos about Peaches on YouTube. Start with this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De5BhtW7opA&feature=player_embedded
I don't know how to link videos, but if someone wants to do a proper link, please do.
I have more Peaches memorabilia to add when I get my camera working.

vidman45 14th Feb 2015 | | Music MemorabiliaElvis Presley - Elvis Gold Records Display | When I looked closely at Elvis' gold records, I was shocked to see that many of these treasures had not been taken care of. Some labels were starting to fall off!
vidman45 12th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumDick Orkin, Jane Roberts And Jim Runyon - The Best Of Chickenman | I remember "Chickenman" on the radio. I have never seen this album. I used to have a similar one that was on Roulette. I bought copies of it for my two teenage cousins for being ushers at my wedding.
vidman45 12th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Belmonts - Summer Love | added missing images to gnag150flow's item.
vidman45 12th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Herb Alpert präsentiert die grosse A & M Starparade | I have added front and back cover and label images to 55bluesman's item. I would have added this LP myself, but I was not sure what country it was from. This promo album contains a gatefold cover with 8 full color cardboard pages with biographies on all of the acts. I found those too difficult to scan and stitch.
vidman45 11th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Superstars Of The 70's | Added box and insert scans. Thanks to Birgit Klauson for entering the box set and data for all 4 discs.
vidman45 8th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Original Motion Picture Hit Themes | After adding Warner Bros. LP's all week, I decided to add some U.A. for a change to help out Trainman with his UA V-A List. I bought this LP hoping to find "Town Without Pity" in stereo. (It isn't!) United Artists did not put the year of release on their records, and their discography is a mess due to all of their catalog # prefixes. The date on this one may be incorrect.
vidman45 6th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumHerb Alpert's Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream & Other Delights | With a nod to The Judge, I have added a front cover image without stickers, and a missing back cover scan. The back cover shows catalog numbers for both the mono and stereo issues.
vidman45 6th Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJohn Raitt With "The Kids" - Songs The Kids Brought Home From Camp | Added this 1960 LP by John Raitt, stage and film star, and father of Bonnie Raitt. This is an album of camp songs. Does anyone know if Bonnie Raitt was one of the "Kids" who sang on this album? She would have been 10 or 11 years old at the time. I checked on Wikipedia, and found nothing.
vidman45 3rd Feb 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Diamond - The Feel Of Neil Diamond | This was Diamond's first LP, first charted in Oct. 1966. When he switched to UNI/ MCA in 1968, Bang continued releasing, and re-releasing 45's and LP's to compete with his current recordings into the 1970's. This was a similar situation to what Rick Nelson faced when he changed labels to Decca. Imperial flooded the market with older catalog material on 45's and albums to confuse the record buyers.
vidman45 29th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The Best Of '66, Volume 2 | There was a Volume 1 companion release that was more youth oriented. I bought both volumes because they only cost $1.00 each, and I liked the Eydie Gorme song. Columbia put out 2 more samplers like this in 1967. I had to dispose of all of them when we moved.
vidman45 28th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - Get Down Tonight! | Contains single hits from associated labels: T.K., Alston, Drive, Glades, Cat, Dash, and Juana.
vidman45 25th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - Billboard Top Rock 'n' Roll Hits | I believe the reason why this CD is out of sequence on the Rhino database is because it is a 1993 reissue. This Billboard series began in 1988. The copyright lease on one or more tracks ran out, and the songs were replaced on the 1993 issue, with the same catalog number. I do not recall what the replaced song(s) was/were.
vidman45 25th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe 4 Seasons - Edizione D'oro (Gold Edition) | Added partial scans, although this gold gatefold cover was not built to last. Hopefully, someone has a better preserved copy and can get better scans. This double LP is sought by collectors because it has some stereo tracks that are not available elsewhere. The master tapes were lost before it could be mastered to CD. Ace tried, but quickly withdrew its CD release.
vidman45 24th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumJames Darren - This One`s From The Heart | With thanks to gnag150flow for entering all of the data, I have added 4 scans. This was Darren's first solo album in over 2 decades. Contains big band classics and ballads.
vidman45 22nd Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumThe Tornadoes - The Very Best Of The Tornadoes | What is going on here? Tornados group name spelled with an E and Music Club CD made in the U.S.A? This entry will not fit into the 45 Worlds databases with the other Tornados recordings. Is this a bootleg?
vidman45 21st Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumSha Na Na - Rock & Roll Is Here To Stay! | I added this 1973 re-issue of their 1969 album. I thought perhaps it was reissued because of their TV show, but I checked and the TV show did not begin until 1977. This LP was in the cut-out bins by that time. My copy has cutout clips in the top right corner of the cover.
vidman45 20th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Tillotson - Poetry In Motion | Added missing scans
vidman45 18th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - All American Rock 'N' Roll | plerner, thanks for adding the composers. This CD was given to me without the booklet. I believe that the 3-tone car on the front cover is a 1956 Chrysler. My wife's grandmother had one of those with the same colours.
vidman45 17th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumJan And Dean With The Soul Surfers - Jan And Dean With The Soul Surfers | The only 4 Jan & Dean songs here are Tracks A1, A2, B1, and B2. These are Challenge records released on 45's in 1961. The Soul Surfers must be a generic studio group. The same four Jan & Dean songs also appeared on another budget LP titled "The Heart & Soul of Jan & Dean and Friends", on Design DLP-181 and Stereo Spectrum SDLP-181 (fake stereo). That LP had 12 tracks by "Friends". The filler tracks have different titles than this L-J album. I own the Design LP, but did not think it was worth adding.
vidman45 16th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Memories Of The Cow Palace | Added missing scans. What a great album to use for filler on CD-R's by any of these acts, with Spector directing the band.
vidman45 16th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumIke And Tina Turner - River Deep | added missing scans for the 1979 A&M reissue.
vidman45 15th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - From The Vaults | Thanks, Phil - I wondered what that "original release date" meant. I have requested a date change.
vidman45 15th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - From The Vaults | Added missing scans. The 45 labels shown on the back cover are fake (fantasy). Don't anyone post them at 45Cat. Also added the full release date, as shown on back cover.
vidman45 14th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Rarities | It was distributed openly in the United States. My copy still has the "Jem Records Import" sticker on the front shrink wrap. I think I only played it one time (in 35 years), and stopped buying Beatles records totally after this. (no CD's)
vidman45 13th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - Remember Me Baby: Cameo Parkway Vocal Groups Vol. 1 | I have the same CD which was issued in the USA by Real Gone Music. I linked the 2 releases subject to moderator approval.
vidman45 9th Jan 2015 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The History Of Rhythm & Blues Vol. 6: On Broadway 1963-64 | Added scans. "Electronically Re-recorded to simulate stereo". I thought there was some true stereo, but it has been years since I listened to this album.
