vidman45 29th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Horton - Johnny Horton's Greatest Hits | As I recall, the whole record is true stereo, and "Battle Of New Orleans" got banned, or certain lyrics bleeped in the U.K. We must be careful not to offend our moderators.
vidman45 29th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Horton - Johnny Horton's Greatest Hits | Thanks to plerner for adding this album. I have added scans. My copy is a later pressing with more recent labels than the original release. I now like the slow songs better than the hits.
vidman45 29th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThee Prophets - Playgirl | Thank you, janiejjones, for adding this album. I have uploaded cover and label scans, and added year of release. Great LP!
vidman45 28th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumBuddy Knox - Gypsy Man | Thanks to plerner for adding this album, and saving me some typing. I have added cover and label scans.
vidman45 26th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumPenny Marshall And Cindy Williams - Laverne & Shirley Sing | I have added images to RPFiller's entry. This is a promotional copy with BB hole and a large promo sticker covering the girl's legs. I hope that someone can replace it with a better copy of the cover.
vidman45 23rd Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumSimon And Garfunkel - The Hit Sounds Of Simon & Garfunkel | Fred, I neglected to mention that Sid Prosen gave himself label credit as producer of this LP. Both the instrumental "Tia-Juana Blues" and "That's My Story" were issued in August, 1966 on an ABC-Paramount and ABC 45-10788. See 45Cat.
vidman45 22nd Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Tillotson - The Christmas Touch | added cover image - album was reissued in stereo on CD in 1995 by Varese Vintage.
vidman45 17th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Dave Clark Five - The Best Of The Dave Clark Five | Images added for this album. Thanks to nboldock for submitting this record. It is the only DC5 record that I still have in my collection because it is in good stereo. All that Mr. Clark sent over here to sell in the US was mono and poorly re-channeled fake stereo. When I found out about this album, I bought it as an import.
vidman45 14th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumClaudine Longet - The Look Of Love | With thanks to The Judge, I have added the covers and side 2 label for this LP.
vidman45 14th Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Fireballs Featuring Jimmy Gilmer - Bottle Of Wine | 45 Cat has a main database for The Fireballs with 116 45's listed in it with, several group name variations. When I added two LP's today with the names as credited on the album cover and labels to The Fireballs Featuring Jimmy Gilmer, the group got split into two. I like to see all of the names combined into a main database like has been done at 45 Cat. Can a moderator do this? Jimmy Gilmer apparently left the group after this album, and the label credits went back to using The Fireballs.
vidman45 3rd Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumWe Five [US] - The Return Of We Five | Added missing album covers and stock labels. A change in group members on this album. Female singer is a blond.
vidman45 2nd Mar 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumKeith - 98.6 / Ain't Gonna Lie | Has anyone else ever bought a sealed LP in a mono cover, with label printed MONAURAL on the label, that plays in true stereo? This is the one that I have.
vidman45 28th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Teenage Triangle | added missing back cover and labels
vidman45 28th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumDion And The Belmonts - Presenting Dion And The Belmonts | Fred, thanks for the info on the re-issues of this LP. So I have a 1962 re-issue. I knew that I could not afford new LP's back then when I was still in high school. The BB hole in the lower-front cover refreshes my memory of buying from a cut-out table at Woolworths when I was in college. It is still a beautiful album. I don't even want to know what it's worth on eBay today.
vidman45 21st Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumBobby Rydell - Born With A Smile | I have uploaded Bobby Rydell's last 7 LP's, and have the scans ready to add as soon as the site uploading problem has been repaired.
vidman45 19th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumRicky Nelson - Songs By Ricky | I added this album to Pathe-Marconi (France), but that label seems to have gone inactive before the 1981 reissue date. Should I have added it to Pathe (France), where the Cat#s and dates fit together better? I have another Rick Nelson album to add from this same reissue series.
vidman45 17th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumDion - Alone With Dion | I have added the gatefold cover scans for Dion's first solo LP, but my record is missing. If anyone has it, please add labels - thx.
vidman45 15th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumPriscilla Paris - Priscilla Loves Billy | This was a tribute to Billie Holiday and they spell her first name wrong? And on the first pressing, they show the same song titles on both sides. Should we blame the producers Clancy B. Grass III and Don Peake?
Priscilla was one of the Paris Sisters.
vidman45 13th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJerry Lewis - Jerry Lewis Just Sings | Thanks for the release info. I have asked the moderators to change the date. I do not have any reference books for LP's.
vidman45 11th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumGary U.S. Bonds - Twist Up Calypso | Moderator should combine the 2 listings for this artist - Gary U.S. Bonds, and Gary "U.S." Bonds.
vidman45 8th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumNeil Diamond - Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show | I have added the 2nd and 3rd incarnations of this classic Neil Diamond album. All versions bear the same Cat#. If anyone owns the original 12 song issue, without "Sweet Caroline" and the sticker, please add them. Moderator supervision requested.
vidman45 6th Feb 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJim Croce - I Got A Name | Added another entry to the Quad LPs List
Find the label printing error fun page (hint- side A)
vidman45 31st Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumBarbra Streisand - Live Concert At The Forum | When I added my first few Quad albums, I put them on Columbia, but when I added this and another one, I saw Columbia Quadraphonic SQ on the drop-down list, and used it instead. Sounds like a job for "Super Moderator". Are you a mod on this site, John?
I just started a list called QUAD LP'S, so I prefer to keep things simple.
vidman45 31st Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumElvis Presley - Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite | With thanks to the prior contributors of this album, RPFiller and Pee-dEE, I would like to announce that I have added it to a new list - Quad LP's
https://www.45worlds.com/vinyl/ab_list_view_record.php?li=76
I have added front cover and label scans, but not the back or inside graphics.
vidman45 30th Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJan And Dean - Jan & Dean | As the one who added this record, John's assessment is right on. The cover is folded over and very flimsy. Not at all like the cardboard covers of early 60's era. The front picture is faded, and I touched it up after scanning and stitching to make it look brighter. I did order it back in the late 70's from a dealer (in Goldmine) with the understanding that it was not an original issue. I knew that it was a reissue/repro, but did not know if it was authorized or bootleg. I used the 1960 date because I don't recall the exact year that I acquired it.
vidman45 28th Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumDuane Eddy - Twistin' With Duane Eddy | Ah, the things that record companies do after their artists leave their label. They dig out some old tracks, speed them up to sound more "groovy", and rename the titles with the word "twist". Notice that the running times are shorter than the original releases. This had to be from about 1962 when Duane moved to RCA. I waited a few months, and bought a cut-out copy for 99 cents.
vidman45 28th Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumBlood, Sweat And Tears - Blood, Sweat & Tears Greatest Hits | Added Quadraphonic release with cover and labels.
vidman45 28th Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Tillotson - You Can Never Stop Me Loving You | added front and back covers for this LP.
vidman45 26th Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumBobby Rydell - Rydell At The Copa | Added stitched covers and sleeves for stereo and mono issues.
vidman45 21st Jan 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Don't Knock The Twist | This is actually a various-artist soundtrack album from the Columbia film. Chubby Checker does not perform on all of the tracks. Other artists are not credited on either the back cover or the labels. A correction to the artist should be made by a moderator as follows:
Track A2 - The Dovells,
Track A4 - Dee Dee Sharp,
Track A5 - The Carroll Brothers,
Track B2 - The Dovells, Track
B3 and B5 (Instrumental) - Unknown Artist,
Track B6 - Chubby Checker and Dee Dee Sharp (duet).
