Wright Holmes - Quinsella / Alley Special (1951)
Thanks, Mike, that makes a lot more sense than what they had at Discogs, especially given that Wright Holmes had previously recorded Alley Special on Miltone...

Johnny Williams [John Lee Hooker] - Miss Rosie Mae / Highway Blues (1949)
I do not know for sure which is first. "Blues Who's Who" does not list John Lee Hooker recording for the Prize label, but does list him recording for the Staff label, so for now, the Staff gets "Primary" position.

Johnny Young - Worried Man Blues / Money Taking Woman (1947)
This is Johnny Young's first recording. The "Johnny William" is Rev. "Uncle" Johnny Williams, per "Blues Whos Who", and not to be confused with the Johnny Williams who was a pseudonym for both Robert "Baby Boy" Warren and John Lee Hooker.

Baby Boy Warren - Somebody Put Bad Luck On Me / Stop Breakin' Down (1956)
Both sides were apparently recorded in 1954, but all available information suggests they weren't released until 1956.

Johnny Williams [Baby Boy Warren] - Forgive Me Darling / Please Don't Think I'm Nosey (1949)
No idea which came first between this and the copies attributed correctly to Baby Boy Warren.

That's pretty definitive! I stand corrected.

Stick "Horse" Hammond - Little Girl / Truck 'Em On Down (1950)
Although dated to 1950 in the Woodside O'Sullivan book, it appears more likely, based on other Gotham releases in the 500 series that this must have come out in 1947.

Roy Smeck - Ukelele Bounce / Humoresque (1950)
The three 800 series releases are all from 1950. The earliest documented 400 releases date to 1951, so perhaps the 400 series is a continuation of the 800 series. It can't be the other way around as you suggest, though.

Roy Smeck - Ukelele Bounce / Humoresque (1950)
Well, fine, what would be your choice for the series name, the, xiphophilos? (Given that apparently Gotham considered the three known examples to be "different" from the Folk/Novelty/Country series, the "400" series). The ball is metaphorically in your court at this point.. Pleae check out the two 45's linked below? I suppose it is possible that Gotham started over with the 400 series after originally getting all the way to 14 in the 800 series. There is little to no info on the missing numbers in either series...

Roy Smeck - Ukelele Bounce / Humoresque (1950)
Yet another Gotham series, although so far only two 45s 800, and 801 and this 78 are documented. Provisionally I would guess it to be the "Ethnic" series.

Fulson Trio - Fulson Blues / San Francisco Blues (1947)
Note: the blue label copy shown has labels for yet another Fulson 10", likely called "Crying Blues/You're Gonna Miss Me" which might be Big Town 1068. Each side has titles pasted over the originals, and the run out shows
BT-1072-B
BT-1071-B
Copies do exist on the red Big Town label as Big Town 1072, with "Fulson Blues" as the A side

Sticks McGhee - Little Things We Used To Do / Head Happy With Wine (1953)
Stock copies show the artist as "Sticks Mc Ghee" on at least some 45's and 78's. Doesn't seem worthy of a separate listing to me. Your opinion may vary and if so, please comment. (There is currently a separate listing here)

The two are now combined

Jake Porter - Be Fair With Me Now / Saturday Blues
Images here - notably, "Orchestra Dir. by Huggy Boy". I'm sure that helped get airplay on Huggy Boy's show which was broadcast "live" from Dolphin's Of Hollywood record store in those days.

Judging by the time on this version, it is not the same as the version on Combo.

The Nic Nacs - Gonna Have A Merry Xmas / Found Me A Sugar Daddy (1950)
According to Marv Goldberg's Robins article, this record was re-released in December, 1951 on RPM 342 and again in November, 1952. The number of the 1952 release is not known. Mickey Champion is the female lead on both sides.

Mr. Chas. Foster - Coronation Day (1901)
The date would be prior to April 8,1901- as of that date, pre-printed labels began to be used. 7" wax on zinc.

The Thrillers - I'm Going To Live My Life Alone / Lessy Mae (1953)
This was apparently also issued as Thrillers OP-167, although evidence of the existence of that release is very scant. If so, it would likely be a 4 Star pressing, based on the "OP" designation. The number 3530 is Joe Von Battle's store's street address, if I remember correctly.

Connie Francis - Stupid Cupid / Lipstick On Your Collar
Rhino released a couple of box sets of "Juke Box Classics" for juke box collectors in 1989 and thereafter. Perhaps it stimulated the bootleggers to make items like this and 16 Candles- The Rhino box sets aren't yet well-documented here, but even when they have labels that look somewhat like the original labels, they have numbers like R1-78000 [1-25], or R1-78003 [1-25] on the labels.
