Here's something about Decca's purchase of the Champion trademark from the bankrupt Gennett label on June 28, 1935: Yonder Come the Blues: The Evolution of a Genre, page 308.

There it is also mentioned that Decca started their second race series (after their own 7,000 series) late in 1935, the 50,000 Champion series. The popular 40,000 Champion series was not initiated before late 1935 either, with a lot of reissues of Gennett material, though.

Both series (and an additional 45,000 country series) were discontinued shortly after May 1936 and most new recordings were reissued on the Decca label in the following years, like this one here.

That's what it means even though the Champion matrix numbers have an E prefix. The a-side was issued on Champion 40117 and the b-side was issued on Champion 40106.

 Could be a Champion master?

The 60000 matrix numbers are New York recordings and the 90000 matrix numbers are Chicago recordings so I don't know what "CH" means either.

Added personnel and dates per M. Ruppli, The Decca Label, vol. 2, pages 271 and 282. What I don't understand is the meaning of the CH-prefix before the matrix numbers. A C-prefix usually means Chicago, and I would have thought CH- stands for the same recording place, but Ruppli says these are New York recordings.
