@whitewhale1965 not a label, the image on the reverse is printed directly on the wax.

edit: just realized that your confusion could be due to my having labelled the image as "b-side label," force of habit.

This is single-sided but there is a label on the dead side?

No wonder I didn't get the reference. It's been decades since I read "The Catcher in the Rye", and I can't say it left much of an impression with me except maybe confusion. I probably wasn't old enough to really appreciate it.

@xiphophilos Ah, I don't hate the record, I was trying to be a bit funny :) the comment was a reference to The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger - the protagonist buys a record for his little sister, but accidentally drops it on the way home because he's plastered. When he tells her he broke it, she takes the pieces from him anyway and says she's saving them.

"Comin' Thro the Rye" isn't the record he buys, but the title of the book derives from the protagonist having misheard "if a body meet a body coming through the rye" as "if a body catch a body etc."

Why save the pieces if you hate this record so much?

A big part of me feels that the right thing to do with this record would be to break it and save the pieces in the drawer of my night table.
