KeithS SUBS 15th Jun 2018		The MSC matrix number shows that this came from a UK London disc rather than a US Essex



23skidoo 15th Jun 2018		Interesting that, while the US Decca insisted on labelling Haley's records as "fox trot", it was the German version of the label that actually came up with a term that came closer to rock and roll.



78rpm-maniac 11th Aug 2014		Hi 23skidoo, my German issue is definitely from 1954, and i have an accurate proof. I own an old German Record-catalogue from TELEFUNKEN-DECCA-Record company from March 1954, where my copy is listed for sale under the catalogue nr F 43676.



23skidoo 10th Aug 2014		The Bill Haley Discography website at billhaleycentral.com, under the "Products" page, lists a 1955 issue of this single with the catalogue number MF 38129. Variant? This single (plus a couple EPs released in Spain) are as far as I know the only examples of one of Decca's labels issuing any of Bill Haley's pre-Decca recordings for Essex Records.

78rpm-maniac 18th Dec 2013		This is the first ever Rock-n-Roll record on 78rpm in Germany. It was available on March 1954 in German record-stores. Released through TELDEC-DECCA record company Hamburg, Germany. The inscription on the label shows Western-Boogie and not Rock-n-Roll, because the notion Rock-n-Roll was not known in Germany in the year 1954. A very rare German record. The Decca-Supreme Record Label is the first Edition from 1954, first Label, the big Decca-Logo is the Label of the second Edition from around 1956.
