 Despite what the A side label says, Louis Armstrong had nothing to do with this recording, apart from inventing the kind of scat singing that Clarence Williams engages in.

 It is Clarence Williams' Washboard Four indeed. The original US release on OKeh 8440 from Feb 1927 is here. It seems, though, that the article itself dates the UK issue not August, but July 1927 ("Now for the rest of July, '27's output ...").

 I found an online mag from Spring 1936 which reviews & suggests this record was actually Clarence Williams.
see here

on reading back a page the mag refers to the release as August 1927?
