@annaloog. Interesting. I was told different by a Lawrence fan. Maybe the request should be reversed then and make Gipsy the primary spelling and put Gypsy in the English title field?

"Gipsy" is a variant spelling. This Wikipedia page shows a photo of (what is claims as) the first UK edition.

Note this edition misspells the word "Gypsy" in the title. I wonder if the movie makes that same error?

Although the title short story was first published in 1930, the other stories were published later and this specific collection was first published in 1960. Correction submitted.
