Doctor Who

The Lives Of Captain Jack Volume Three
@Darbs2 - CDs. I think there was an attempt at creating a 45World for audio books a couple years back but I don't know what became of that. If it's a CD, it belongs here and the ISBN can either be mentioned in the Notes or treated as a second cat #. Books with CD inserts can be listed under both the CD and Books worlds, while CD/DVD packs can be listed under both CD and DVD.

I'm not sure what is meant by the additions in red after the title, as shown on the rear cover image. These do not appear on the playout titles. They could refer to additional artists, or to a description of the track titles.

The notes by Enrico Lopetegu describe poetically what this new music is all about.
"For Argentina and Uruguay, countries united, and separated, by the Rio de la Plata, these are times of electricity and tango. Lots of tango, and I don't mean tourist tango, I mean real tango, the one that is part of the Rioplatense bloodstream, the one that makes us melancholy, nostalgic, or just plain sad. The tango that makes us want to dance, laugh and make love. The treasure box for memories too painful to remember, too sweet to forget"

Mar Dulce
I was drawn to this by the rather fine abstract art on the sleeve. This album was effectively their second, and their success had attracted several other artists to work with them. I particularly like the collaboration with Elvis Costello on "Fairly Right"

@Lee Wrecker
Hi Lee
I've just had a look at the club editions on Discogs and as there is no Cat No. on the spines, the Cat No. would be taken from the Disc itself, so CDP 7 46157 2 would be correct as we don't use the in-house numbers allocated to club editions for the Cat No., i.e D144276.
So, if Jerry were to add his release it would be as follows....
Country - USA
Label - Capitol
Cat No. - CDP 7 46157 2
Barcode - (leave blank)
Date - 1985 (as this appears to be the date of the first release)
and add to the notes... "club edition" "D144276".
cheers!

Thanks PhilMH so club edition label is Capitol but cat# is D144276 for the entry of that one if Jerry wants to upload that would be good.

I'm with you on this Quad5point1 the label should be as the disc indicates Parlophone. You can add the -EMI if people think it's necessary but just Parlophone would be fine on this one.

This has been logged with the label Toshiba-EMI and although they manufactured the disc, the label would appear to be Parlophone-EMI judging by what's on the disc

A point made many years ago - MPL is not a record label. It is McCartney’s company McCartney Productions Limited.

Review
If your discs have No-Noised needle-drops of this material in stereo, this is the source of it. It was fine at the time, but this seriously needs an upgrade, as with today's technology, this sounds rather poor

I think this is made in Japan for Europe and the rest of the world outside of the Far East and the Americas; the catalogue number is in the style used by Sony in Europe, etc. A Japanese release would have some Japanese text somewhere, as well as the rights society JASRAC. Call it International.

The Essential
I don't own this CD. But from reviewing the posted scans, this release lack "essential" discography and recording details. Also the artwork is amateurish and looks more like caricatures of Bogan & Roland. Track selection looks like a decent collection.
