Various Artists - The Devil's Music (2002)
Roger, it is the original now that I've listened carefully to them both. The CD version is a bit sharper sounding than the YouTube version but they are the same as best I can tell. Apparently I don't know how to embed vids yet so I can't post brother Cyril's song but is on YouTube if you don't know it..

Roger, I don't know enough about the versions to know which one this is. I can tell you though that Aaron's "Tell It Like It Is" is not quite as good as brother Cyril's "Tell Me What's On Your Mind" which I do have on a single and personally prefer to this track. Sorry, Keef & Roger.

Various Artists - The Devil's Music (2002)
Yehoo! My days as an advertising exec. for the British musical press are finally over. Looking forward to doing some CDs I actually like and bought of my own free will again. Going through and cataloging a fair chunk of both the two major British music magazines' CDs made me realise a couple of things;
1. the standard of cover-mounted Cds has declined dramatically over time,
and 2. the only place these CDs are worth anything is as catalogue items on CD World.
The CDs can't be sold and are generally not good enough to be given away, well not to friends anyway.

Various Artists - Sensation Nation (2002)
Hey, gregs78s it has always been listed this way since I got here and I'm just following suit. I thought it should have been Uncut Magazine myself but after doing over 50 this way I think it's ingrained in the system now. Should they all be listed as Promos as well? But that didn't happen with the Mojos either save for the odd one or two.

Yup, Roger same typo in the notes - curious that covers are different though. I'd prefer that real cover was the cover on my copy too though.

Grateful Dead - Ramble On Rose (2015)
I think this should be listed as an Uncut / Rhino release and show up in both the "Dead's" and "Uncut's" pages. I've added the the Uncut cat# (the only one on the disc) and a full set of scans for moderation only because I did them thinking this was not listed but checked the Deads page just before entering one as an Uncut / Rhino release.

No, Roger no mix up that is the cover on this release, the black & white pic your photo 1 is on the far left of the 6 page foldout. Followed by the two pages of tracklist. If I flip it over from left to right it's the Additional notes, your cover (original cover) in the centre and my cover far right. I wish it did have the original cover on the cover though. But is mine's layout different to yours, Roger? Just checked and Discogs also has the same cover shot for my release.

Phil, this is CD world and commonsense and usual practice counts for nothing here. Spaces, hyphens and preceding zeros are all the go in wonderful CD world.

Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band - The Legendary A&M Sessions (1998)
Two days ago I used the rationale given here to justify this release as an album on 11 of my own 5 song CD Singles. I requested whether they should be re-entered as albums and received an overwhelming response to this question. All 11 were unequivocally deemed to be singles so what's so special about this release?? I believe it should be deleted from this land and I have (months ago) already listed it as a single. Currently this item is listed in both lands and there is no justifiable reason for it to be here in my view.

Roxy Music - The Best Of Roxy Music (2001)
I've got three more days before I go back to work so I probably won't finish everything off before then but I'm very close and that means I can pick off the rest at a more leisurely pace later on. Bodston, the 1999 USA / Europe releases with the cat prefix ROXYCD_ are all international too except for Australian versions which for some reason dropped the ROXYCD from the cat#. The more CD's I do the more differences I see. It would seem Australian CDs would probably have more idiosyncrasies than most but then again that's where I'm looking most of the time.
I'm working in Brisbane next week so I'll no doubt come back with a new batch of things to process for 45Worlds. I'm looking for the Baby Huey album but don't like my chances on that score but something will turn up. It'll be great to get some new stuff to listen to rather than scanning and doing entries. It is a good feeling to be nearly there though and I see you're getting close too so good luck pushing it to the end.

Various Artists - Uncut Presents Fill Your Head With Prog (2007)
Yeah, I agree I went back to UK as country after doing this one because it just seemed to make more sense than split up the Uncut catalogue. Merge away Leonard, this is the only one entered this way, I've subsequently done another 8 or so. So a good job I only did it this way once.

What should I opt for here?? Went for International but I'm still not convinced. This the only one I've done this way and may well go back to using the UK just to keep everything together.

Various Artists - Uncut Presents Fill Your Head With Prog (2007)
From 2007 - 2014 Uncut produced two types CD packages one for the UK market in a jewel case and one for the international market in a cardboard sleeve. In 2014, however, they opted for a single global system with the cardboard sleeve. So my question is are these releases UK until 2007 then a mix of UK (jewel case) and International (card sleeve) then UK from 2014 on. Or conversely are they all UK releases no matter what? Any advice appreciated.

Aurra - The Best Of Aurra (1997)
Hi Roger, it's a Charly release which indicates UK straight up but was it also released in other other European countries is the question. I would have played safe by going for the UK but I have a terrible record on each way bets. So it looks like you've done the right thing. Phil will probably know best on this one.

This is the cardboard sleeve version for the markets outside the UK. Also issued as a jewel case version for the UK market. Maybe I should progally put this in the notes from now on?

Various Artists - Radio Bob (2007)
I agree Phil, but what about prior to 2007 when the CDs came in the jewel case. Were they imports and have to be listed as UK whereas the post 2007 period is International. I think this may well be the case.

Various Artists - Mojo Presents Rumours Revisited (2013)
Review
Who would have thought that the saccharine flavoured turd that is "Rumours" could be made more bland or irrelevant. The old fellas @ Mojo knew it could be done and have successfully turned up the Blandometer to a 1000 in a hapless attempt to convince a new generation that this is a good album. 1 out of 10 for the nice artwork on this absolutely crap product. A strong contender for the "Mojo" All-time Hall Of Shame award.

Various Artists - Mojo Presents The Songs Of Leonard Cohen Covered (2012)
Plastic Free Scantily Clad Cohen Reveals All! Yes, scans added with the plastic wrapper removed. I kinda like the mugshot effect the plastic gives to Leonard's face in the first pic.

Joy Division - Substance (1999)
This is the "Discogs" listing of the original Factory 1988 release "Joy Division ‎– Substance Label:Factory ‎– Facd250 Format:CD, Compilation Country: UK Released: 1988" and the French, Polish, South African, Australian, European and UK listings all portray the cover with the writing justified. I might add That CD covers are pressed the same way as the UK edition with the spine on the horizontal axis rather than the vertical.
So if in preference to the weight of global consensus and corroboration on how the cover should look we go for "that's how it came in the packet" line of of thinking I think we could be making a mistake. I could be "dead wrong" as usual, though.

Joy Division - Substance (1999)
Well, however it's meant to be may be a mystery but the green ribbon icon may also be a clue on the CD as to which direction is up. I know it was presented by the manufacturer this way but they could have made a mistake - it's been known to happen before.

Joy Division - Substance (1999)
Yes, but why? And the back cover is wrong too but if wrong is how you like it, it's fine. I know the cover opens this way but so does the cover on "Closer" but you don't see that one on a 90 degree angle like this. The question here is intention of layout and if you believe that the intention is that the text and "substance" on the back label are written on a 90 degree angle then that's the way it is.

Just added scans to this entry but spotted a number of mistakes;
1 The title should be "The Changing Man",
2 Track One should be "Left Right And Centre". I'll send a correction

In Search Of Syd??? Well, look no further there's plenty of 'em here on 45Worlds. As Mojo CDs go this one's a decent effort with a good selection of tracks and quite an interesting listen.
