Magic Marmalade 18th Aug 2022		CD Album Barry White - Just For You (2008)	So it seems you have a Special Edition of a box set? The fourth disc, if only one track, would make that a CD single. (Who else has five versions on the bonus?) This is not without precedent though, as The New Order: Retro box set, although a four disc set, was initially sold in limited run with a bonus fifth DVD disc, and I have a CD by DeadMau5 with an "extra" remix disc, not available outside Australia and not after initial run. I think we need, in such cases to just make the main body of the entry as anyone would find it, and mention the bonus / limited extra disc in notes (and maybe make a separate entry in CD singles for it, and make the links between them in notes of each world) Thoughts, anybody?

(new entry will need a cover scan at least).
Magic Marmalade 9th Aug 2022		CD Album Sonny Boy Williamson - The Original Sonny Boy Williamson (2007)	I've changed this to CD box-set, removed primary barcode and cat, and added sectionbreak here to define these tracks as first CD in set... ...then moved all images for other discs here from other entries. This now needs the primary cat and barcode - for the box - to be added, along with the tracks for other discs in order, as well as additional separate cats and barcodes, by visiting: Add missing info, below.
Magic Marmalade 22nd Jul 2022		CD Album a-ha - Foot Of The Mountain (2009)	Yay! ...I was hoping someone would make this entry, as I've lost my copy somewhere in a box, but have it on my mp3 player... This allows me to add the Yoo-toob vid for my favourite song of the whole of last year: Riding The Crest It is, in the words of the more youthful among you: The total sausage! ...erm, sorry, I mean: *An Absolute Banger!* (... yes, that's how it goes, isn't it?) A bit Numan-esque, and a practically perfect pop song. (In case, like me, you'd lost touch with a-ha since the eighties, it's worth checking their more recent stuff, as while the albums as a whole tend to taper off somewhat, some of their best individual songs ever are on these!) Magic Marmalade 23rd Jun 2022		CD Album Helen Shapiro - Helen Shapiro (1990)	Request / query submitted as to whether this ought to be merged with this, as they are the same album, with all the same details: Barcode / cats / tracks etc. ...The only substantial difference (other than artwork) would seem to be the label, which to me, seems substantial enough to keep them separate entries... this one on EMI solo, the other on EMI Compacts For Pleasure. What I would query though, is why EMI would release the same album, with all the same details, on the same date, but on two different sub-labels? I'm guessing one must be either later than the other, or for a different market?
Magic Marmalade 22nd Jun 2022		CD Album The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main St. (1994)	Review This CD sounds amazing! ... Better even, than the original vinyl issue. While I dearly love my original vinyl copy of this, my absolute favourite Rolling Stones album, which is not only one of the best double albums ever made (along with led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti), and is their most consistent, and consistently brilliant album, I love where it's coming from, with a very sleazy, slack rocking blues Groover vibe, which grooves from one end to the other like a something-or-other, with additional dashes of sweetness and soul, this, sonically is far superior, both in terms of clarity, sense of space and separation of instruments which perfectly compliments that "live in the studio" feel that this album has, with the band all playing together at once, rather than sounding like a patchwork of separately recorded pieces sewn together in the control room. ...I love the vinyl sound of the LP, which does give it that "vintage" sound that comes with vinyl, but this has power, punch and rocks even harder. I did study the scant notes in the booklet, that comes with this, for a reason why it should sound so good, but only found the answer I wanted on the back cover.... With just one simple statement, that says it all: "Remastered by Bob Ludwig" Bang. This has a whole lot of something extra, which I can only attribute to him. The real beneficiary of his presence here, has to be Charlie Watts Drumming, which but has extra snap, crack, and an almighty bass drum thump. I checked on Discogs, to see if there was a contemporary 1994 Ludwig vinyl to this, and apparently there was, but only in the US on 180g vinyl... And according to reviews on that vinyl issue, sounds awful! Well, never mind, maybe later ones sound better (hopefully with the Ludwig mastering), but this CD is more than adequate.... Magic Marmalade 17th Jun 2022		CD Album Diana Ross - All The Great Love Songs (1984)	I've changed this to UK, as The Nimbus mastering usually indicates a press for UK. ...It is odd though, as usually, if it is a Japan for UK (or elsewhere) from this date, you'd find the disc made in Japan, inside a locally printed artwork package, not the other way around... ...Reason being that around this time, only Japan, and then Germany (West) had CD pressing plants, and only as time went on, did other countries get their own up and running. So a little strange to find it this way.

And if admin had not intended we make mistakes, they wouldn't have provided the means to fix them :)

I just wondered if you'd noticed it :) (After all, it's only a hole) Along with the sawn notch you get, cut through the side of some CD trays and inlays, they stand as evidence of the cheeky cost cutting exercises of record companies, rather than go to the expense of a bespoke promo label, or the extravagant expense of a "deleted"stamp, they just knock holes in standard issues. (No wonder the music industry collapsed a few years back... Bunch of penny pinching cheapskates forgot how to do things properly, and called it efficiency, tut tut)

((Incidentally, your back over image has a hole punched barcode- meaning your copy is either deleted issue, export, or promo purposes)).
Magic Marmalade 14th Jun 2022		CD Album Injected - Burn It Black (2002)	Review Hard, Heavy, Crunchy and Grunge-y. This is good.... really good! Another CD I bought a while back, and ripped to hard drive, then forgot... as I probably dismissed it as yet another generic almost band, but then it pinged up on my Mp3 player's shuffle button, and it immediately took my ear, as something much more than that... ...It sounds exactly like early nineties Grunge, so much so it is almost exactly like Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots, or certainly sitting somewhere in between the two, but with more conventional sounding metal riffs, bordering on AC/DC at times (but only occasionally). The vocal however, is what pushes the character of this more toward Pilots than Soundgarden, and the lead here sounds a lot like Scott Weiland, or tending towards the newer, millennial sort of Blink 182 sound, which matches the strong melodic semi-pop / rock of the latter. Thumping, cracking drumming, bass, and those guitars, all of that grunge / metal style, with a lot very strong tunes, of consistently high quality from one end to the other. If you like Superunknown and Purple (Soundgarden and STP respectively), you'll like this. Magic Marmalade 1st Jun 2022		CD Album Various Artists - Now That's What I Call Music 15 (1989)	Added a valuation for this, based on last ebay sale. Had gotten in the habit of thinking that the previous issue: Now 14, was the one that was scarcer, for some as yet unknown reason, and attracted the proportionately higher values, but recently, this one is really drawing the attention of the crowd, it seems (again... who knows why!). The value I've added is for one with booklet, and yes, it really does achieve these values... and regularly! (In fact, it often hits the mid to high 40s, although more optimistic listings ask for £70 and over, which I can't say I'm that sure they will ever achieve). More generally though, the earliest CD editions in the series, seem to have hit their max, and even begun to tail off a little - Now 4 is still a huge piece of change to get, but not as excessive as it has been (£600+ in some older cases), whereas Nows 8 and 9 (the other earliest single disc editions, had been getting up to around the £100 mark, but seem to have tapered off to about £50 - £60 a go.... ... But it's these eary double disc "fatbox" ones (Nos. 10 - 20-ish) that have seen the most growth in values recently, this one in particular.
Magic Marmalade 1st Jun 2022		CD Album Blind Lemon Jefferson - The Complete 94 Classic Sides Remastered (2003)	You can add the extra tracks / discs tot he listing by going to: Add Missing Info, at bottom of page, then clicking on: Add Extra Tracks. (Headers for each disc (In Green) can be added by typing: Disc C SECTIONBREAK in the track field of the first track title for that disc before the first track title itself (if that makes sense). The SECTIONBREAK text (All caps) is read by the system to make text before that word a header in green, and only the text after that word appear in the track title field. Hope this helps :)
Magic Marmalade 31st May 2022		CD Album Zoë [Pollock] - Scarlet Red And Blue (1991)	Review Half a classic widescreen pop rock album, half phoned in makeweight filler. I bought this to make up the numbers in my local charity shop's 3 for 1 pound deal on CDs, mostly because, having heard that all time classic widescreen summer staple: Sunshine On A Rainy Day, I wanted to see if the rest of the album was up to much... ...I wasn't optimistic, given that it's been years and years since it's release, and I figured if the rest was any good, I'd have heard some of it over the years, surely? Fortunately, it kicks off with a stonker, that I have indeed heard before, but just forgot: Lightning, every bit the equal of that previously mentioned hit, and indeed, the whole first half of this album is full of very strong, memorable tunes done in that huge, big energy widescreen pop rock style underpinned with a synthy / hip hop - ish beat... so much so, that the first enormous surprise comes in this fashion, in shape of the title track: Scarlet, Red and Blue, which, if I didn't know otherwise, I could swear was a Massive Attack song! (seriously, you cannot tell the difference) And while Mountains, Loving Kind, and Holy Days are all of this standard of epic pop-ery, worthy of the price of the CD on their own, after the pinnacle of this album, Sunshine etc. the level seems to fall away considerably, either because it was always asking too much to keep that level up (and having front loaded the strongest stuff) or they just ran out of ideas, and had to pad it out a bit, it feels a bit flat thereafter... ...But, that said, the final song: Smile In The Darkness does pick it right back up to the standard of the first half... so a good save on the last tune. Possibly the other tracks will grow on me over the time a little, but even if not, there is more than enough on this album to make it a great buy, so much so, this one is not going back to the charity shop! >It's a keeper!< :) 4 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?

(Called: Wanna Stay Home on that album) ...I did not know this!

Magic Marmalade 10th May 2022		CD Album Ice [Industrial] - Under The Skin (1993)	I've investigated on 45 cat but couldn't seem to find any of these tracks under the name(s) Ice there, and the primary band named Ice is the sixties Decca one, which most of the others under the name here on worlds seem to be, so I think we'll let them have first dibs on the name until a change occurs maybe on cat. So I had to go to Wikipedia to see how these were described, and thw first word to leap at me was: Industrial. ...So I've designated this band as: Ice [Industrial] - (at least for now, so as to remove them from the other band's listings) - if you feel this is not appropriate, or another name or word is better used, let me know here :)
