(- although it was a joke, n.b. the colour contrast of black on black is unlikely to be great in most commercial printing examples - this disc displays a distinction detectable in directed light due to variation in albedo. . .)

ppint. 2nd Mar 2016		CD Album JJ Cale - Roll On (2009)	pity rounder didn't provide the o.p. with the songs' composer(s), as it's a lot quicker for the o.p. to enter them, *especially* if they be the same, mostly the same, or even variations upon a mix of composers... the rest of j. j. cale's recordings are 45cat & 45-worlded as being by ''j. j. cale'', not ''jj cale''. i've suggested that this album should be.
ppint. 21st Feb 2016		CD Album William Bell - The Best Of William Bell (1997)	r'foster: ta for images (yr hmbl srppint. lacks both scanner and home broadband), never mind slightly wrinkly :-) - and regards also to intrepd investigators & elucidators of the remastering & release dates. (n.b. 'tis/'twas quite common for january releases to be copyrighted (etc.) late on in the year preceding - which could explain at least one minor point.)
ppint. 20th Feb 2016		CD Album The Small Faces - The Darlings Of Wapping Wharf Launderette (1999)	cbheart: it's entirely possible that that track is taken from "the autumn stone" album immediate records re(?)-recording° - elsewise, had castle had free access to their decca back catalogue, there's an even dozen tracks that ought to've been included; and prob'ly enough over all, for a thrid cd. . . ° - i haven't checked: yr hmbl srppint.'s main stereo system's inaccessible atm (& liable to remain so 'til spring has sprung°° °° - which the daffodils seem to believe to be the case, but ain't necessarily so

ppint. 14th Feb 2016		CD Album Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow (2003)	gregs45s: thanks - and, i'll have to check for that°, as soon as it's warm enough for yr hmbl srppnt. to be both out of bed, and at home.°° - but "d.c.b.a.-25" on the original dynaflex lp (and the yuk abortion) is/was an instrumental - is/wasn't it? - "good" ? - how dare you? - the proper descriptor is "superb" !°°° ° - the extra, hidden, unlisted track, that is °° - no heating °°° - ;-)
ppint. 30th Jan 2016		CD Album Spirit - Clear (1996)	lyrics wikia, inter alia, would suggest otherwise; and "clear spirit" possesses meanings, including a number that seem in sympathy with both the album lyrics, and the spirit of the times, and with randy california's (and other band members) drinking, as well as thinking habits. - yr hmbl srppint. doubts the multilevel play on meanings of "clear spirit" were missed by the members of the band - hence the shared typography adopted for the two words on the album cover. (going into the associations of any band member being - or not being - "a clear" might, i suspect, bring undesired attentions "from elsewhere".)

(1994)	r'foster: 'twould not surprise me: i've heard similar before, though it's not in fact the toys' track rated most highly by yr hmbl srppint. - nor even one of their top-most four; but it's very hard to separate uh, "immediate, first-hand-originally-sourced, informed hearsay" from "hype from the group, their manglement-and/or-producers, and/or their record corpse" at so long a separation (five decades, yet! - where did they all go?).° - but yes, had their manglement-cum-producers bothered to supply them with a decent supply of suitable publishers' demos, and booked them into recording studios for three or four sessions through their first year or eighteen months touring. . . - they were definitely accounted a pop vocal group, not an r&b/race quartet to be restricted to the chitlin circuit, and really should have been encouraged to record more, including lps. ah well, we've got the compilation of their fourteen tracks for linzer & randell. . . ° - not that it was often easy at the time. . .

ppint. 23rd Dec 2015		CD Album Europa Symphony - Tchaikovsky (1989)	see eatons, for more about what appears to be - must surely be° - the origin of this exceptional aquatic tie-in series of classical cds, starting with (& by) frederick mayer, an austrian fleeing the nazis and founding first the eaton bag co. in soho, in 1938, and then eaton's shell shop, still in soho, in the mid-fifties. ° - but there's no mention of the cd series, itself, in what i've read so far. . .
ppint. 23rd Dec 2015		CD Album Europa Symphony - Tchaikovsky (1989)	the symphony is not identified as "the pathetique" on the disc, nor in either track-listing; the 1812 overture, unlike the symphony, is not identified in its on-disc title by opus number, but as though this were its sub-title, hence my listing of these so. (the only other information visible on-disc is that it is digitally mastered, which seems unexceptional for a cd. . .)

ppint. 5th Dec 2015		CD Album Shania Twain - Up (2002)	the "international version" (so advised on clear, see-through background printed sticker on front top left jewel case)'s blue disc 170346-2, matrix-equivalent no. 17034622, has 19 tracks in "..groove mode.. ..with a more rhythmic feel" and the red disc 170345-2, matrix-equivalent no. 17034522, has an "electric, rockier edged sound"; a single-leaf, double-sided printed-paper insert advises this and that the green, "more downhome, western feel, reminiscent of the dolly parton, willie nelson influences of my childhood" mix is available to download for free from her website. the 12pp + 4-panel fold-out poster front insert booklet has full song lyrics, production details and 1p detailed credits. given 1 of the 2 discs of the "international version" (mfd in the eu in its entirety) differs from 1 of the 2 in the merkin version, i s'spect this suffices to constitute a separate "cdworld" item. . .
ppint. 4th Dec 2015		CD Album Various Artists - After Hours 3 (2004)	track 7: the band's name is correctly spelled: "cajun hart", as per the printed-paper insert track-listing, not "... heart"; 45cat shows several singles, three merkin originals as well as one yuk release (and half an apc) under the correct spellinge, but only one bootleg spelled "... heart".

(unless it's got yeurppean and merkin distributors printed on back cover, when it's "world".) (- it's a record's intended market territory/territories, rather than necessarily the country of manufacture, that rules - k.o. ?)

ppint. 22nd Nov 2015		CD Album Genesis - Invisible Touch (1986)	which is of course why, despite the self-same virgin records name and sole* logo's presence on both disc and rear card insert, and* the bar-code number all being identical with those of 45worlds item gencd2uk, and differing in just the format-identification digit & check digit from the simultaneously-released virgin label cassette, and the complete absence of either of the former charisma labels's logos, this must here be given as being on the charisma label - as precisely none of those, nor the 45worlds item, genpcd2, is so given. - but of course, manic marmalade'll be rebadging both of these (the cassette isn't up on "45tape" - yet) as being upon the charisma label without delay. (- for the record, i do not doubt that the tracks were recorded for tony stratton smith's charisma records ltd, and intended for release upon the charisma label - but virgin bought the company assets in 1986 - and tony smith died early the following year. - virgin pretty clearly regarded their own branding of their "product" as being of prime importance, and it is solely due to the copyright and publication of the records having been registered by charisma records ltd prior to their release, in the event by virgin records, on the virgin label - as is quite normal - that charisma records ltd is mentioned on the cd disc & packaging.) (n.b. - there's no such thing as a patent upon specific recordings - unique processes may be patentable, and may or may not actually be patented, but musical and other recordings are not.)

ppint. 11th Nov 2015		CD Album Eurythmics - Greatest Hits (1991)	- my copy bears identical bar-code, bar-code number, cat#s, but is mfd (disc) & printed in germany/en allemagne (rear insert) (& probably also the saddle-stapled, 8pp (2 sheets paper) front insert, but this bears no statement of origin), with disc printed in red (duo's name, title), rest white on black ground, including track-listing with composers, (p) dates; then song publishing, recording engineering and production credits; and edge rubric reading round from top through right-hand side to bottom. both rear insert - tray inlay - edges oddly printed, so as to read upside-down when cd case is face up...
