Punk group 999 did a special 78rpm pressing of their Nasty Nasty single, it came in a box with promo sheets, though I think it was on 7" vinyl.

Is Lonnie Donnegan still around?
What about Spike Milligan?
Was Charlie Drake a Brit or an Aussie?
Did anyone from Monty Python ever make a 78 before their heyday?

Joe "King" Corrasco & The Crowns also did one on Stiff in the early `80's. Ian McCulloch also did one that was 78 on one side and 45 on the other.in the mid to late `80's.
I was a bit dissapointed that Joe Jackson never did his third album on a set of 78's! My guitarist and I speculated his 4th could be done on player piano rolls.

Who are they then?
No-one knows, they disappeared without a trace... :erk:

Some odd groups made private recordings in those days. I wouldn’t think that 78 is worth much.
Not many are, sadly. I'm thinking of ditching mine...
I'll take `em!

All dead and Charlie was a Londoner as for Monty Python unlikely as they would have been teenagers.

I see Joe Brown is on the list (presumably as in the Bruvvers) but I can't see 78 for him - at least not on this site.

Am I missing something?

I think it’s because the Decca label book by Paul Pelletier lists his debut single as issued on 78 - the 7” is on 45cat here: https://www.45cat.com/record/f11185uk

However, I can’t find any images of the 78 online. That’s probably why I didn’t add it here. A user of Rate Your Music lists it in his collection. He’s on this site too, so I’ve sent him a message. It’s possible that it could have been issued on 78 and that it hasn’t been sold online in recent years. It wasn’t a hit. Perhaps some of those late 78s haven’t survived at all.

Update: the user only has the 45. So the 78 was apparently issued, but its existence isn’t confirmed.

Now added F11185

Thanks - I knew of the Queen when updating the list, but not Lorrae Desmond. If anyone else is aware of any updates to the list, please let us know here.

Added Maureen Evans to the list.
