Scooby Doo Where Are You! (1969 - 1978)
Best of the Scooby series.
Fact: Nicole Jaffe (Velma) was the hippy girl in the Disney movie "The Love Bug"

10 series and not a duff episode in there. Unfortunately, all the topical gags have made it look very dated now.

This was on late night in the UK on either Sky One or Bravo. It was The Hitchhiker, never heard of Deadly Nightmares.

It has a regular broadcast slot and is 15 minutes longer than QI, so I've classed it as a separate show.

Sorry, that was my fault. I'd seen the late night re-run on Sci-Fi and assumed the original run went out at a similar time. I'll correct it.

The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr. (1993 - 1994)
This series is what the movie "Wild Wild West" wished it could be. Wild West meets steampunk with some alien technology thrown in for good measure. John Bly gets my vote for best villain EVER! Billy Drago should have been given Eric Roberts role as The Master in the Doctor Who movie. Things could have been so different...

The Invaders (1967 - 1968)
Started well, but waaaaay too long and most of the episodes were ponderous and not that good. I never understood why so many Americans consider this a classic.

Only When I Laugh (1979 - 1982)
Michael Bates used to get a lot of flack from the PC brigade for his portrayal of the bearer in Ain't Half Hot Mum, but Derrick Branche got hardly any stick for his blackface role as Gupte. I think he was so good an actor that most people thought he really was Indian.

Doctor Who fans may like to note Patrick Troughton was in one of the episodes from series 2 and Mary Tamm was in an episode from series 3.

Pipkins (1973 - 1981)
I'm a bit at odds with IMDB on this one. I've always considered Pipkins and Inigo Pipkin to be different series, with Pipkins being a sequel to the original rather than the same series carrying on. From what I remember, the original show relied largely on "head to head" conversation routines between Inigo and Hartley Hare, and sometimes with Tortoise. It had a cosier feel to it, in the same way that Bagpuss feels cosy. When it changed to Pipkins, I always felt they were trying to make it like the Sooty Show, too much going on. It didn't feel like the same show any more and even back then I was wishing they had just let the series end rather than try to revamp it.

Of course, that's how I remember it. It may be a case of memory cheating. Unfortunately, with so many of the early shows lost forever, we'll probably never know.

Honey West (1965 - 1966)
The novels predated the Avengers, but the TV series was only brought out after Aaron Spelling watched The Avengers (which started airing in 1961) and was impressed with Honor Blackman to the point of offering her the lead role in this show. She turned it down to do Goldfinger.

I don't know about credits for animals. I've never seen it mentioned that they can't be added. If they are a major part of the programme's cast then I don't see why not, although minor roles would be a definite no no IMO. Bruce appeared in 17 of the 30 episodes made and stopped at least one bad guy from stealing the car. IMDB have him listed as "actor" so that's good enough for me.

As far as Lassie goes, there was often more than one dog in the role during the series. Pal was the principal dog in most episodes and movies, or one of his offspring.

The Sky At Night (1957 - Now)
They should have made Brian May the permanent replacement for Patrick Moore. It would have been going back the shows roots, someone who was interested but wasn't a "professional" atronomer, just like Moore was when he first started on the show.
