Don Drummond: In Memory Of   Comment by johnnyhotspur

I actually have 'Johnny Dark' on a UK Blue Beat 45, credited to 'Buster's All Stars' As far as I know, it's not an alt take on the UK Blue Beat released 'Ska Town' I haven't played this album for a while and need to dig it out and play it!

Don Drummond: In Memory Of   Comment by Upsetter FC

As noted in Downbeat Special. "Sudden Attack, Walk The Town and Johnny Dark are Prince Buster productions."

1980's reissue. Rear of added sleeve has a note written in pen alongside the 'Johnny Dark' track.... "Alt cut of Ska Town 7". I'll have a proper listen in the next few days to confirm this. Note: Don 'Drummons' on A-side label.

Dire Straits: Brothers In Arms   Comment by 78rpm-maniac

There are also some French contract-pressings of the German issue around. The back-cover has not the oval Phonogram Hannover stamp, but the French two waves symbols instead. There are also some differences in the deadwax stamped.

Prince Buster: What A Hard Man Fe Dead   Comment by Madame Streggae

I'm only missing the 2nd HMV album for my Elvis wants but that's tougher than the first, and so many tatty copies with their sleeves in shreds. Can I justify the £300+ for a decent one or should I be content with my `62 RCA reissue? I swing back and forth on that one....

Prince Buster: Pain In My Belly   Comment by Madame Streggae

Nice story John. I remember further back when some JA Coxsone reissues came with the original UK laminated sleeves, but sadly I never had any sleeveless UK vinyl copies to match them to. I'm sure I've related this story before but Virgin Megastore were selling (in shrink...

Ghostpoet: Dark Days + Canapés   Comment by nboldock

Clear vinyl.

Mykal Rose X Subatomic Sound System X Hollie Cook: Rockin' Like A Champion   Comment by nboldock

Although advertised as "green" vinyl I would say mine is more yellow (translucent).

Charles Earland: Live At The Lighthouse   Comment by mleg56

Live at the Lighthouse is a live album by organist Charles Earland which was recorded at the Lighthouse Café in Hermosa Beach in 1972 and released on the Prestige label credits: Elmer Coles trumpet Clifford Adams trombone James Vass alto and soprano sax Charles...

Dire Straits: Live In 85   Comment by 78rpm-maniac

This 2-LP-Set has been released with different label-designs. Totally white, Dance and ball-entertainment, Rock-Report, and as a coloured vinyl edition, too. Records are blue and yellow, or blue and white.

Mr. Paul's Party Band: Big Piano Beat   Comment by 78rpm-maniac

Hi, it is not an USA-release, but it was made in Germany through EMI-Electrola pressing-plant, Cologne for export purposes. That explaines the Odeon-sticker on frontcover and on labels.
