Break-In Master 26th Dec 2022		Vinyl Album Jack Mercer And Mae Questel - Popeye's Favorite Srories (1960)	Unless there were other Popeye albums on this label, I used to have this! I'd have to hear it again to know for sure but, I recall mine only having 2 tracks on each side. I lost the cover shortly after it was given to me so, I don't remember this one at all! I just remember having a Popeye album from this era on this exact label.

Break-In Master 26th Nov 2022		Vinyl Album Fire - The Magic Shoemaker (1970)	I'm listening to this right now. Side one's narration isn't recorded well. The background sounds are more up front than Dave's story-telling so, you miss part of the story because you can't hear him over the room noise. By the end of side one, apparently, the few children he's got around him have fallen asleep or left from boredom. i don't blame them! I can't even keep track of the story!! Side two sounds like there's no children at all and the background sounds come from a cafe somewhere and are on a 3-second tape loop throughout the rest of the side. Was he trying to one-up on The Small Faces? I'm just looking for psych tracks and, there's really only two of them on side one. The rest is just bland, ordinary pop rock.
Break-In Master 18th Nov 2022		Vinyl Album Tommy James And The Shondells - Crimson & Clover (1969)	Does anyone know the backstory on the title track? I just heard it again a few minutes ago and can't help noticing that the entire middle section is either in a completely different key or was slowed down a bit. I'm wondering if they recorded the single version and then decided to do the album version by just adding that section in the middle and didn't pay strict attention to the keys. I'm tempted to try to get that middle bit to match the rest of the song. The middle bit also sounds a lot like they just did that line once and just kept editing in several copies of it adding a new solo bit to each one. The end of it sounds quite choppy, too, like, whoever edited that bit together (again, one pass copied several times) kept chopping off half of a snare beat. Maybe it was a badly edited loop they added 4 times.

When this album first came out I was in my first year of high school and most of us called the album, "Zoso". Even some of the radio jocks called it that for a number of years.

Break-In Master 17th Jul 2022		Vinyl Album Fingers Akimbo - Cowtowns And Other Planets (1978)	"Passage" isn't really another song, it's in the middle of, "The Buttonwillow". The song is about getting on a spaceship called, 'The Buttonwillow" to go to another planet and start a new civilization and "Passage" is the journey TO the new planet, then the last couple minutes is The Buttonwillow, again. This is one of the best albums I ever bought in the blind!! It was in the cut-out bin for 50 cents at the local chain record store! I kinda liked the cover and there was something else about it that I kinda liked so I figured, what the hell? I can afford 50 cents! So, I bought it (their last copy) and was NOT disappointed AT ALL!! Some of it's kinda jazzy (Steely Dan meets The Sopwith Camel), some of it's kinda back-woodsy/bluegrass (country bumpkin meets Steelye Span), some of it's electronic (Fairport Convention meets very early Kraftwerk or Nue!), some of it's kind of folk rock (Tom or Harry Chapin). Being a rocker, it's not really my cup of meat but, still, a really good record!!

Break-In Master 12th Apr 2022		Vinyl Album Elvis Costello And The Attractions - Get Happy! (1980)	Did ALL the British copies have the exact same ring wear? When I first bought mine, slightly used (about 30 years ago), I thought it was just because the previous owner (probably a punker) did that but, I've seen a few of them here and pictured on YT this past week with pretty much the exact same rings, if not THEE EXACT same rings.

I've only ever seen one copy of this about 30 years ago and I definitely remember both Mississippi Queen and Sittin' On A Rainbow to be track 3 on each side! Now, one opens the album and one closes it! Why?
