LP: Abbey Road
Parlophone PCS 7088 [Tylko w Stereo] Egipt (U.A.R.)
Producent: George Martin
The Beatles
black label - silver lettering .
parlophone records existed in egypt from late 1967 until 1973 as a part of four EMI
labels only pressed in egypt at that time...
this album pressed almost everywhere on the beatles apple label ,but since apple
did not exist in egypt ,sono cairo choosed the logical alternative which it was
parlophone ,they pressed the lp on a unique desgin of parlophone unlike
any other parlophone label along with unique & funny mispelling of the credits
writting moc cartney instead of mccartney ,and harrisson instead of harrison!!!
and as for the music itself ,the lp came without her majesty.
the album came without picture sleeve as most of egypt non arabic albums came
without picture sleeve ..sometimes comes with sono cairo center hole jacket.
Poor ol' Paul McCartney! Gets it in the neck every time, don't he? If it isn't making out like he's dead when he's very much alive, it's getting his name wrong on these exotic labels! Even EMI in England got it wrong once, showing his name as McArtney(leaving out the 'C') on an early promo issue(I think it was for Love Me Do). He can't take a trick now, can he?
Look at that label, will you? The Egyptians have tried to create a 33 1/3 rpm "device" to answer EMI's 45rpm device for this label. If the Egyptians didn't then someone did! Looks a bit odd, really.
