It is, indeed, a classic-album, but to my opinion, as with some other albums by other artists, the price-development is artificial.
Like the totally overpriced Dire Straits On the night 2-LP-Set from 1993.
Just have a closer look at the various online-marketplaces, you will find many of such albums. Just grab a pristine copy for a reasonable price and everything will be allright.
The promo perforation in the top right hand corner on the front cover was a giveaway to the first 100 or 200 concert goers to promote the album at Beach Boys concerts
