Started buying records aged 13 in 1972.
First singles bought: All The Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople, 10538 Overture - The ELO, & The Jean Genie - David Bowie.
First LP's - Electric Warrior by the electric elf Bolan, Slade Alive!, Ziggy & a cheapo comp by The Move on MFP, Fire Brigade.
Moved on from the Pop scene speedily into the world of Prog.
1st concert: David Bowie at Green's Playhouse, Glasgow, January 1973
2nd: Hawkwind (with Stacia) at Glasgow Apollo (revamped old Green's Playhouse) December 1973.
Dozens more after and spent what seems the entirety of my teenage years at the Apollo.
I sold off many that I just didn't enjoy, so now only own 1,500 LP's, 3,500 CD's, 1,200 vinyl singles on 7" & 12", 300 CD singles & 1,000 music DVD's.
If I like an artist I tend to have everything but just one copy as I'm not at all a "trainspotter" collector into label variations from Venezuela etc. That doesn't interest me, the music is my buzz. Huge Dylan fan with hundreds of bootlegs. Everything by Bowie, The Who, Neil Young, Beatles, Stones, Doors, John Martyn & every second by Jimi Hendrix. My favourite Soul Funk Jazz Rock people, Marvin, Stevie, Isaac, David Porter, Santana, Mouzon, Miles, Funkadelic, Prince, & obscurities such as The Imperial Pompadours & one-off pure gems such as Aphrodites Child's 666, Devo, Suicide. I also have many hundreds of compilation albums & soundtracks but never consider that to be part of my main collection.

Apollo59 21st Aug 2017		Vinyl Album The Who - Tommy	@BEATLEJOHN: I believe you. I remember reading that Daltrey re-recorded it because he couldn't sing it live in the higher key. Yet my extensive notes that I've been adding to bit by bit for around 20 years don't confirm that he did record it in 1973 - so my memory failure there. However, I'd be interested to know which version of Tommy this USA (lower key) version maybe found as it wasn't included on the 1996, 2003 or 2013 releases.
Apollo59 21st Aug 2017		Vinyl Album The Who - Tommy	Original pressing with gloss sleeve. The 1973 repress with matt sleeve has a new 1973 recording of Eyesight For The Blind (The Hawker) sung by Daltrey in a lower key.

Apollo59 1st Jun 2017		Vinyl Album The Beatles - The Beatles [The White Album]	The reissue scan dated '1980's' (not the white vinyl) could be more accurately dated to 1980, as that's when I bought a new copy as my original was getting a bit worn out.
