23skidoo 14th Nov 2024 | | BookJean Marie Stine - The Prisoner: A Day In The Life | The Prisoner novels have been reprinted periodically. Does anyone know if #3 has ever been reprinted under the author's current name, Jean Stine? I don't know when she changed name; if it was within the last 20 years I don't know if there have been any reprints of it. The first book by Thomas Disch tends to be the one that gets reissued a lot.

23skidoo 11th Nov 2024 | | BookGeorge Eliot - Middlemarch | Publisher name is correct: at the time of this edition (late 1890s), there was a comma after "Rand" which was later dropped.
23skidoo 11th Nov 2024 | | BookBarbara Hambly - Beauty And The Beast | Cover scans added.
23skidoo 2nd Nov 2024 | | CD Album[no artist listed] - Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: The Realmgate Wars | Best. Title. Ever. Anyway, I couldn't find a country of origin on this, but if someone can provide, please feel free to correct.
23skidoo 26th Oct 2024 | | BookDavid Weber - Flag In Exile | Cover scans added.
23skidoo 24th Oct 2024 | | BookJohn Guy - Queen Of Scots | The 2005 date on this edition is incorrect as it references the 2018 movie so the edition indexed here can't be dated earlier than a year or so earlier. It also has an ISBN-13 and books didn't have those before 2007, making this a later reprint.

23skidoo 24th Oct 2024 | | BookCaptain W. E. Johns - Worrals Flies Again | @annaloog
Fair enough. Should I go back and correct the entries for Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew books (which I belive are listed by the author real name, though several different people wrote as Keene) or the books of Walter Wager who was often credited as John Tiger? I've been following incorrect instructions all this time.

23skidoo 22nd Oct 2024 | | BookCaptain W. E. Johns - Worrals Flies Again | @ppint. Have you submitted a correction? If not I'll leave it to "annaloog" or another administrator to decide if to make the change. I do not know why Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain and a few others are entered under the pen names only but I was told 10 years ago we use real name and then indicate pen name in the appropriate field - with no exceptions.

23skidoo 19th Oct 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumBill Haley And The Comets - Rock-a-Round The Clock King | A few more thing learned recently: Don't Mess Around and The Wobble were covers of singles originally recorded by the Orioles. I don't know if any of the others originated from elsewhere other than the well known tracks at the start; "Hugh" is an original instrumental the group also recorded for Orfeon in Mexico around the same time.
23skidoo 18th Oct 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumFats And The Chessmen - Let's Twist | Label title is actually "Let's Twist". Correction submitted.
23skidoo 17th Oct 2024 | | Video GameImpossible Mission - Epyx | Isn't this the game where if you die your character gives out a blood curdling scream? Fun times playing this late at night with the volume up.
23skidoo 17th Oct 2024 | | BookEdward Gorey - The Helpless Doorknob | I indexed this knowing there might be debate as to whether this qualifies as a book or not (read description), however it is treated as a book by literature sites and has an ISBN-13 so I decided to index it.
23skidoo 17th Oct 2024 | | BookKlaus Kettner - Bill Haley & His Comets: Rockin' Around Europe 1958 | Go here for details of the CD that came with this book.
23skidoo 17th Oct 2024 | | CD AlbumBill Haley And His Comets - Rockin' Around Europe 1958 | As the CD had no sleeve, I uploaded the book cover in lieu. I'll add a link to the 45 Worlds indexing of the book once I've entered it.Go here for the indexing of the book itself.
23skidoo 15th Oct 2024 | | CD AlbumBill Haley And His Comets - Twistin' Knights At The Roundtable | Forgot to mention in the notes that here are no composer credits on this release.
23skidoo 2nd Oct 2024 | | BookJames Joyce - A Shorter Finnegans Wake | Burgess listed as co-author owing to his editorial and textual contributions to this edition. Since this is a major re-editing with commentary, I didn't index it as a new edition Finnegans Wake itself.
23skidoo 30th Sep 2024 | | CD SingleMeredith Brooks - Bitch (Edit) | Cat # is incomplete. 7807 also begins the cat # for the promo single for Stop (see indexed copy). But the number is longer and is in fact the UPC code, I believe.
(Mod. comment: corrected)

23skidoo 28th Sep 2024 | | BookDavid Weber - Ashes Of Victory | On several of the Honor Harrington book covers I often wonder if the artist wasn't fantasy casting Angelina Jolie in the part. Although this particular cover isn't as close to her look as others, I cannot help wondering if the decision to give Jolie's character an eyepatch in the 2004 film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow wasn't in some way inspired by Harrington's look once she began sporting an eyepatch in the series.

23skidoo 28th Sep 2024 | | BookDavid Weber - A Rising Thunder | Cover scans added
23skidoo 25th Sep 2024 | | CD AlbumJoni Mitchell - The Asylum Albums (1976-1980) | Composer credits are as per printed on the box; the discs themselves have different credits for a few songs.
23skidoo 20th Sep 2024 | | BookWilliam S. Burroughs - The Wild Boys | Was Grove ever an imprint of Dell? This was one was odd for having Dell on spine but Grove on title page, unless they just reused a carcass from a Grove edition, only I don't know if Grove ever put this out.
23skidoo 18th Sep 2024 | | TVDark Angel (2000 - 2002) | Apparently, James Cameron devised Dark Angel as something of a dry run for his later adaptation of Alita Battle Angel, though you'd be hard-pressed to find many similarities between the two IPs other than both focusing on women with superhuman abilities.
23skidoo 15th Sep 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumAllan Sherman - My Son, The Nut | My copy has a sticker attached to front "Including Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh! (A Letter from Camp)"
23skidoo 14th Sep 2024 | | BookScott Mauck - Daily Groove | I bought this for the cover, I will not lie (and yes I do have the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" meme in my head right now) I'm not sure if the fragmented text is intentional or not - the cover and spine both have this which might be an intentional effect (it doesn't appear the ink has worn away) but the back cover renders the text illegible (the sticker remnant doesn't count). If by some odd chance someone has a cleaner copy of this maybe they can confirm.
23skidoo 14th Sep 2024 | | BookEileen King - Toys And Dolls For Collectors | Front cover on my copy possibly misprinted as the title text goes right up to the edge (so that's not a scan error).
23skidoo 14th Sep 2024 | | BookJoan D. Vinge - Catspaw | Unable to input ISBN due to irremovable bookstore sticker covering it on back cover and it's not on the copyright page. I tagged front cover scan as a possible misprint due to it apparently being printed off-centre slightly (note logo is cut off bottom left; it rolls onto spine in copy indexed not a scan error) and because it displays Aspect imprint logo despite title page showing Popular Library imprint and copyright page making no reference to Aspect. Maybe they used a carcass from an earlier edition?
23skidoo 14th Sep 2024 | | BookRobert Foster - A Guide To Middle Earth | With respect to the original uploader, added a clearer front cover scan plus a back cover image.
23skidoo 8th Sep 2024 | | BookRon Goulart - When The Waker Sleeps | Back cover scan added
23skidoo 8th Sep 2024 | | BookRon Goulart - What's Become Of Screwloose? And Other Inquiries | Cover scans added. Unfortunately rear cover defaced by impossible-to-remove-without-tearing sticker. It covers the "first publication anywhere" claim which would seem to contradict the existence of a hardcover edition by Scribner and according to ppint the fact the stories were previously printed.
23skidoo 7th Sep 2024 | | BookBill Strutton - Doctor Who And The Zarbi | I just notice David put covers for 1975, 1979 and 1981 printings here. My understanding is every printing has to be indexed separately, especially if their covers differ which is certainly the case for 1975.
