GEMSMFAN 15th Jun 2015		CD Album The Everly Brothers - EB 84	to vidman45: The submission is a U.S. release... the disc was pressed in West Germany, but look at your jewel case most notably the back inlay (back of case)... if that has a U.S. address or anything printed as U.S... this is U.S., regardless of the disc info.. early discs were VERY often pressed in Germany or Japan. In 1984 U.S. pressed CD's were rare, especially for PolyGram Group labels.

GEMSMFAN 14th Jun 2015		CD Single Genesis - Genesis	This qualifies as a 8" Laserdisc using CD Video "digital" sound (which explains the logo)... there are NO 8" CD's. Also, there are no CD's as thick as a laserdisc, which is like 2 CD's glued together, playing sides out. The actual CD Video format was a 5" gold CD which included one "video/audio" only + 3 or 4 audio only tracks. This is ALL video, no "audio" only tracks. You'll note, only PolyGram group labels issued CD Videos, so on Laserdiscs released by them, the logo would be printed, like here. from Wikipedia: "The term "CD Video" and its logo were also used on full-size (8- and 12-inch) PAL LaserDiscs with digital audio (for movies as well as for music titles), to distinguish them from the previous LaserVision format with analogue audio and, presumably, to leverage the consumer recognition of the successful CD Audio format. GEMSMFAN 5th Jun 2015		CD Album Céline Dion - Let's Talk About Love	those aren't Sony Canada markings... copyrights are to Sony Music Entertainment (Canada) Inc. and that is confusing you. Note that info follows the (C) or (P) and year. That is on all of her CD's. Canadian CBS Group Labels catalog numbers don't use 6-digits followed by a 2. That is Europe. The Canadian disc number resembles the U.S. number in most cases. Check out the Canadian pages for releases from Columbia or CBS and Epic... you'll see what I mean... there are NO releases using the number sequence. Then check out the Labels on the Europe and UK pages and you'll see what you submitted more than likely belongs there.
GEMSMFAN 5th Jun 2015		CD Album Pink Floyd - Animals	DIDP 20206 is not an alternate catalog number.. it was a mastering code issued to this CD by manufacturer, DADC. DIDP numbers were printed under catalog numbers of discs that quite often had been pressed outside the USA. (most likely by CSR=CBS/Sony Records, Tokyo, Japan). (Digital IDentification Popular). NOTE: the DIDP number is the matrix number (check out CD center ring)

GEMSMFAN 3rd Jun 2015		Cinema Bedknobs And Broomsticks (1971)	This was in a handful of movies where motion picture actors were combined with animation... Mary Poppins was the more popular one. I believe the Disney first on this, was a movie called, "Song of the South"... which included the famous "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah". The movie was later banned in the U.S.A. never seeing the light of day on video, in any format.
GEMSMFAN 3rd Jun 2015		Cinema Bedknobs And Broomsticks (1971)	Saw this at RCMH, on a huge screen. This was the movie featured in Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Show in 1971.. the movie probably debuted there, since it was released in December. The movie quite often was a Disney attraction. The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, no longer has the movie as part of the presentation and it hasn't for many years. It's an all stage show now and at Broadway theater prices too.
