George Slv 1st Jun 2015		Vinyl Album Link Wray - Link Wray	These are from the mid 1960s Swan label, so you can go earlier than this. They recorded Jack The Ripper in the staircase of an apartment to get an eerie echo effect. Don't know how much difference it made. They first released the single on their own Rumble label, which I owned briefly before trading it. Then it was apparently rerecorded by Swan.

I would wish for the two episodes where Teresa Brewer appeared. See the list of show episodes at tv.com.. If anyone gets somewhere with this let me know.

But it's known that it's really an unfinished film project, without a coherent script. It was first intended to be a 3-film trilogy. So what you get in this is scattered scenes from a much longer story.

[YouTube Video] It can also be seen at the Teresa Brewer Center. This clip was on a compilation video, but I can't find that now.

George Slv 20th May 2015		Cinema Une Parisienne (La Parisienne) (1957)	Oh yeah, this is one I've been working on for years as a collector. It seems the French edition was titled Une while the English was La. I have an English language collector tape. That has never been issued officially on VHS or DVD. Only French language with English subtitles. And the reissues are all missing the pre-title sequence. I'd really like to know why.

George Slv 19th May 2015		CD Album Elvis Presley - Elvis At Sun	Digital masters made from the original Sun master tapes. So it appears to have the original Sun reverb, and sounds that way too. Used the DSD digital method, supposedly the best available now. But of course as soon as ya convert it to 16-bit CD audio, ya ottimatikly lose sound. But it does sound guud. I'd still like to know the history of remastering after RCA got them.

Why would they not use the Sun "masters"? They lose that processing and echo that Sam Philips created. Same things comparing other songs to original 78s or 45s around the web.

George Slv 9th May 2015		Cinema Mob Story (1989)	My experience during the filming of this movie in Winnipeg. For the winter car chase downtown they waited for a night when there was frost on the pavement, to make the car skid as it turned left from Portage Ave north onto Main St. It was past midnight and I had a chance to go watch. The camera here was on the north-east corner inside the back of a station wagon. There were a couple ambulances hired standing around corners in case of accident. Security guards kept pedestrians from entering the scene. I came from the south-west area across the street, waited til I was allowed to walk along the sidewalk circled red and thru an underpass to the camera location. See the image above from the movie. In the action, this car skids as it turns to your right, and stopped with its side to the camera here. Portage and Main is a famous intersection in Canada. The two largest arteries meeting. Each street 8 lanes divided.
