Gerry And The Pacemakers - Ferry Cross The Mersey
The Columbia trademark's up there on the top-left corner of the cover! The label might be where the mistake was made. Is it possible to see the label, cptbeefheart?

P.S. the movie has become a scarce commodity! I remember seeing it years ago at the Savoy Theatre, Stockton NSW back about 1965 when I was all of 10 years old. I don't think it was ever shown on TV here.

I don't remember him in Prisoner, RC. NBN stopped showing the series because of the "brain-fart" called regional TV market aggregation and NRTV never got to his episodes because they were several episodes ahead of Sydney but decided suddenly to show the episodes that TEN-Sydney were screening, a backward-jump of nearly two years-worth of episodes. I gave up watching when they did that.

If Terrey Hills was unable to meet Bonney Hills, is that because there was a mountain(or two) between them? Ha-ha

For those outside Australia, Terrey Hills is an outer-northern suburb of Sydney NSW while Bonney Hills is a town just south of Port MacQuarie.(deliberately spelled with an upper-case Q as names starting with Mc or Mac should always have an uppercase letter following the 'c' = McX, MacX - X is the variant.)

Well, let's see, Monolith... Roy Wood "unplugged" himself from the Electric Light Orchestra, came forward in time(40 years), borrowed Harry Potter's wand, went back to his own time, waved the wand and created "Wizzard"(maybe he was keen to get into Hogwarts but didn't pass the entrance exam). Ha-ha!

I don't know what's sadder, broken vinyl or broken plastic CDs. Probably the vinyl as that's what most of us grew up with(those of us born after 1950, that is!)

John Lennon Live In New York City - [none]
Anyone who has this in their collection should look at the playing surface. If purple(ish) colour means this is likely a pirated disc burned to DVD+R or DVD-R discs and copied using whatever copying software maybe available. If the playing surface is silver(ish) it's still no guarantee of authenticity of the disc. There's no copyright protection in many Asian countries.

Any update doco produced on the subject of The Beatles, if produced now, would likely have to include Dani Harrison, talking about his late father, George, and Julian Lennon speaking about John. One person who should be completely left out of any doco of this nature, is Yoko Ono, blamed by some(many, rightly too, in my own view) for the Beatles' break-up. She would have nothing of any value to contribute to such a project.

Don't know 'bout the alternative stereo mixes, RC as I only ever saw this on broadcast TV so wasn't really paying much attention to stereo(probably because the TV I had at the time was only monaural audio, a Thorn model 48T1, vintage 1981 VHF/UHF set).

It does update the Beatles story post 1980 and Lennon's assassination(picking up where The Compleat Beatles left off), but George Harrison was still alive at the time this was made so the story ends around 1999 for this particular production.

78 RPM
Russ Morgan - Put Your Shoes On, Lucy / Bar Room Polka
Any time I've seen this label, the print has faded to such a degree as to render the label illegible(unreadable). Something in the gold ink used in the printing makes it fade or wear away. Not that I actually buy 78s as the era they represent(generally), 1920s to mid-1950s* just doesn't appeal to me. Rock & Roll on 78rpm is as rare as hens' teeth(as I've found).

*Australia came late to the 45rpm vinyl disc, compared to Britain, USA and other countries, sporadic 45's issued prior to 1956 but on the whole, 78s still "ruled the roost" here almost up to 1960.

The Waltons (1971 - 1981)
Yep. That's the Sally Boyden episode, She was a cutie back then but with it she packed a lot of talent into that tiny frame. Acting proved to be another side of her talents we discovered through that Walton's episode. I remember her in a guest spot on YTT in 1979 where she did the Dolly Parton song, "Here You Come Again" and thought to myself "Dolly Parton, eat your heart out!" Sally's version was far better. It proved she could do Country/Rock and could mix it with the likes of Linda Ronstadt.

The Waltons (1971 - 1981)
RC, the 1974 episode, is that the one with Sally Boyden? If so it can't be from 1974 as Sally was still tied up with Young Talent Time(and aged only 9 years). It wasn't until 1977 that she had left YTT and went off to do that "Lassie" movie and her "Waltons" episode.

RC, it was handy ONLY if your local TV station was on VHF Ch.3, 4 or 5! Ch.0 to 2 of 5a up to 11 and the radio was as useful as tits on a bull!
