roboleyton 21st Feb 2014		Vinyl Album Paul McCartney - McCartney	These were pressed in France in 1973 for the U.K. market. So were all of the Beatles stereo albums. This was done during an oil embargo during that year, and so an ingredient that makes Vinyl albums was in short supply.

Apart from the front cover, the rest of the album artwork is the same, as is the labels. However in the deadwax the JZLP 1 matrix is scratched out, and OVED 232 stamped there instead.

roboleyton 17th Dec 2013		Vinyl Album The Beatles - Live At The BBC	They are available now on iTunes, at an expensive £34.99. I'm in the middle of downloading. Having checked the quality, the 'Saturday Club', and demo recordings are improved, but the studio session material is better on bootleg. I'm wondering if there is a vinyl promo to go with this. A point I would like to make out is the fact that all Beatle releases, since late 2012, are being made through Calderstone Productions Ltd. This was formed last year after the sale of EMI to Universal. Calderstone Road, and park, lay off of Menlove Avenue in Liverpool. The previous name of the company was Beatles Holdco Ltd. name change 29th Nov 2012 (details from UK companies register). Additional note.(26/8/14) Calderstone are the company that looks after the recordings of The Beatles, since the sale of EMI. All future releases on vinyl will no longer contain the text 'An EMI Recording', and should have Calderstone Productions instead.

roboleyton 3rd Dec 2013		Vinyl Album The Beatles - The Beatles [The White Album]	getalife, numbers were dispatched pro-rata to all stores depending how many they ordered, so the rest of the country would get low numbers, the same way as bigger stores in London, or other cities. However I have a copy of the Mono version with #0249116, but contains a 1st pressing. This is because Stereo, and Mono copies were assigned certain batch numbers, this way there are no Stereo, or Mono albums with the same number. It also shows that the numbers were not sent out in any paticular order. There is a website somewhere that covers this, I'll have to find time to look it up so I can link it to this release.

roboleyton 1st Dec 2013		Vinyl Album The Beatles - The Beatles [The White Album]	If your copy has white inner sleeves, and side openings for the discs, then that will be a later issue (late 1969 - early 1970), and will have 6 figures not 7, which were on issues from 1968 to 1969. Also earlier issues came with black inner sleeves, and the labels had 'Sold in the U.K., Subject etc..' text at the top.Also the opening for the discs was at the top, not the sides.
